The Plight of Steven Taylor Empty The Plight of Steven Taylor

Post by Kimbo Mon Aug 28, 2006 4:16 pm

Probably not a subject many on here care about but i've got to get it off my chest. bounce

Here we have one of the best young defenders around, and i don't mean just in England(in my biased opionion ofcourse), and he's stuck behind TITUS BRAMBLE in the pecking order at Newcastle. And to add insult to injury there are rumours of us buying another inferior player in Robert Huth. Will that DONKEY be ahead of Taylor aswell???

I don't understand Roeders thinking here, he himself said Taylor has the potential to be up there with the likes of Rio in the future... so why not play him??? scratch In pre-season he looked a bit shaky and lacking in confidence(nowhere near as shaky as Bramble i might add), which is understandable seeing as he hadn't played since december through injury. He obviously needs some games under his belt. The likes of Dawson and Anton Ferdinand have got regular first team football and because of it they're ahead of him in the England pecking order! FACT: Did you know that there are people out there that rate those two higher than Taylor, Shocked and to be honest i can't blame them. Taylor looks like a right muppet stuck on the bench while Bramble's playing.

I like Roeder but if he's determined to destroy the confidence of one of our prize assets then he can fuck right off! In a straight choice between Roeder and Taylor it'll be Taylor every time! Grr Grr Grr

    Rant over. <Ale> silent

He should have moved to liverpool when he had the chance Ale

To be fair, maybe Roeder's just easing him into the first team. He's still very young and Roeder doesn't seem to have much confidence in making Taylor nor N'Zogbia first team regulars at the moment.

He's still got 13 years of his career left - plenty of time.

though he'll move within 3, just so he can win something

He's ready though, when he was 18 and got a run in the team anyone would think he had a couple of seasons of first team football. He looked a very mature player. Also he's barely had a game since december, that can't be a good thing.

And Taylor will never leave, he'll either end up like Harper or like Shearer Arrow Hopefully it'll be the latter. Razz ok

Roeder should at least put him at right back, I think that's where he first played and he lokked very good. He's better than Carr and that way he can get a run in the team.

But Moore and Taylor are both better IMO, we could spend £5m alot more wisely.

They're our feeder club. Smile ok

I'd like us to buy Bridge though, it's starting to look unlikely with Cole saga winding down. He'd be a TOP buy though, hopefully a last minute deal will be done - we're good at those.

Huth on the other hand can bugger off to Boro though, he's not wanted. Evil or Very Mad

Too right, AWESOME player. It would be the perfect senario IMO, Woodgate won't play every week(if any Laughing ) so Taylor could still get games. And who better for him to learn from??? Woody's worth the risk for me. ok

30, i doubt he'll be in the team next season(i think his contract runs out) but he's a good solid stop gap. I think he plans to go back to Australia next year.
