IMHO Nani is better than Lennon already in terms of ability if you don't see it you will soon enough.

As for Rio top ten yes but top five no(Nesta,Cannavaro,Thuram,Ayala,Carvalho) before u dispute or discard Carvalho why is it these players get rated highly after they are seen in EPL?

Only two of those players are arguably better than Rio atm (Nesta & Carvalho), the others are on the decline. I'm one of Ayala's biggest fans, but he's not on Rio's level now.

From the England team, I'd accept Rio being WC. Gerrard, A Cole & Rooney are more debatable. Gerrard, for example, has been very poor playing for England.

I'm tempted to say Rooney is now. I guess it depends on how well he does the rest of this season, but towards the end of last season he was phenomenal - scored a few in the CL, as he has this season, and he's been scoring important goals for England recently as well.

Gerrard is world class for Liverpool but for England he's pants - as a consequence, I don't regard him as a 'world class' footballer.

Not really. Young is one of the best crossers in the league and is far more effective from deeper positions. Not to say Agbonlahor is weak in these respects, but he ain't as good as Young from what I've seen.
    Technique?
    Portugese?

So Rio used to be world class, however these young players above I guess are the new batch of WC defenders.

    My head hurts.

    Laugh ok

    Well said.

Back to the topic - Lennon has already played an integral role in the EPL, 2 seasons with Spurs, 2 5th placed finishes, played well enough to earn himself a mention re right sided wingers at least.

Far more one footed than Nani, however so was Robben, and Robben >>>>>>>>>> Nani currently,

and so was Puskas, and Puskas is one of the greatest names around.

Being a winger with one foot doesnt matter so long as that foot is good enough. the alternative is that the weaker foot can be worked on over time, something that is not beyonf Lennon at such a young age.

Anyway, I'm bored of this topic to be honest.

Anyone fancy a Gerrard Vs Lampard debate?

Agree. Young is the best English crosser of a ball since Beckham, but also has pace and trickery to add to his repertoire.

Aggy is more dependent on his speed, looks a good prospect, but I'd expect Young to go on and have the more successful career
