Well, last season Milan really struggled in the league so personally I think you had the better side. Agree on the squad depth point though, and that's what eventually cost you.

Better teams prove it on the pitch. If Inter are better than Liverpool, they will prove it over two legs (my earlier post was tongue-in-cheek). Everything else is speculation.Tweedle wrote:Forza Italia!Forza Milan! wrote:L r d wrote:Forza Italia!Forza Milan! wrote:Inter are a far better side than Liverpool.
Inter are playing better than Liverpool.
Inter are more consistent than Liverpool.
Inter have more options than Liverpool.
Liverpool will go through.
Well you could reverse all that for last year between milan and man u, yet milan still got through. So you're right Liverpool probably will go through
'cept its true

Absolutely. Here's hoping they do. I used to support all Italian teams in Europe, but I will make an exception for Inter.

valencia knocked them out last year. liverpool will this year.
i think liverpool will get the crucial lead and be able to defend it out.
carragher on ibrahimovic.

But Milan were playing better than Man Utd at that stage of the season.

I think Bobo is refering to the fact that Milan has a great second half to last season even in Serie A, winning almost as many points as Inter.

Oh. Maybe they do it again, have another good 2nd half of the season would need it if Arsenal knock them out.

19 games, thats taking it a bit far considering the 2 Milan games were played in the space of a couple of weeks!

ah so you've given up on that other arguement
You scraped the win against Everton and it was quite clear there were some defensive problems. Not a convincing perfomance at all. What about that loss to Portsmouth? and a draw against Boro, is that meant to be good?

We lost to Pompey before the Roma game. We beat Everton 4-2, soon after the first Milan game, away from home in a title decider.

so quick to forget. are you a goldfish? The argument where you thought i was referring to the second half of the season.
That game was only a matter of weeks away from the Milan game.
You think the Everton win was convincing? It was quite clear there were problems in the defence in that game, but it was againt Everton so you could recover. You wouldnt be able to do the same against Milan as they proved.

I don't want to make excuses but you really need your 1st defence to get anything at the San Siro. You reckon no Toure+Gallas Arsenal would get anything from the San Siro??

depends how they approach the game.
Everyone makes the injured defence excuse for Man Utd.
Milan outplayed them in every department in that match (look at the way man utds midfield got completely dominated and how Rooney was pocketed by Nesta).

The defence is the bedrock to mount a challenge would give the midfielders with impetus to attack not worry about the 'defensive duties'. Really needed a Hargreaves type player. Arsenal would be a different kettle of fish; I reckon they would beat Milan, their style & approach is different to Manchester United and Ade-bay-or would relish taking on Nesta.

Indeed, but you didnt have a player like that. Milan were on fire that night though, most teams wouldve lost to them.
Why do you think they would beat Milan?
Im sure Nesta will relish the challenge too, he's in great form at the moment.

I will be overly confident if Van Persie plays. Arsene Wenger knows to beat Milan; you have to ‘be Milan’ (not literally). Arsenals approach to their games is simple “out pass your opponent” and with a player in confidence in Clichy his wing play will be key, not sure who the RB for Milan is these days but Adebayor is ruthless in front of goal and Eduardo will be a good replacement for Van Persie. Kaka would get the better of Flamini, but not Francesc! Milan attacking options these days are mouth-watering with their fabulous DLP in Pirlo, this should be a good spectacle.

Arsene Wenger has been outwitted many times in Europe. I dont see why people think Arsenal can simply outpass Milan. I could equally say Milan will outpass Arsenal.
Clichy could well give Oddo a hard time, though Oddo has improved a hell of a lot defensively in the last 2 years. I think his performance against Ronaldo and Evra last season was very commendable.
It will be a good spectacle - 2 teams who like to keep the ball on the floor and play neat passes to feat. Both teams are quite narrow aswell.
