Thats not really true... Moratti is just following the vision on which Internazionale was born as a split from Milan - to not discriminate or choose players based on their nationality. Milan at that time (now known as AC Milan) used to only allow Italian players.
For us, it does not matter whether a player is Italian or any other nationality... our first captain was a non-italian in 1908, and our current captain is a non-italian. Even now, when UEFA is making rules which need 8 youth+local players from next season, and we don't have that, Moratti goes on and is trying to sign a portuguese player... its a bit stupid (coz we will have to fill up the local player requirement from our youth team, and be forced to leave out few of our top players next from our CL list) but in a way it is something to be proud of.... We are sticking to our principles, and IMO that is a good thing. Not like Milan, who refused foriegn players initially in a very narrow minded approach, but later changed their basic "values"

I think 30-33 is still a good age for a defender, even one who makes runs up and down the flank.
Zambrotta is ours. Your club doesn't buy Italians.
