So, our first match without scoring away from home this year in Europe...only the 2nd match not scoring in all matches in Europe this year.

Sporting didn't create much, but I didn't see anything in this Rangers side that makes me think we can't put them out in Alvalade. Sporting had more of the ball for most of the match and seemed to do the most with it.

Ibrox apparently didn't intimidate the boys... Alvalade should be a good match.

    You watch the whole thing?

For being the home side, Rangers weren't much.
Looked more like a pre-season friendly for most of it... nothing really exciting.

With the crowd and better field Sporting should be able to play better at the Alvalade.

    Right now I think:

    Zenit are through
    PSV-Fiorentina will go to penalties
Sporting will beat Rangers and go through
Getafe-Bayern is a 50-50 match...could depend on if Klose is back

YOu could clearly PSV werent that interested with the titlebattle still going strong, and with the injury of Gomes they arent happy.

But even without him they should be able to win easily of Fiorentina.

Not based on today's performance. If that's all they have at home...
Sporting's problems have been away, not on home turf. With a draw at Ibrox in which they played the ball around comofrtably, the match in Alvalade should go smoother.

Leverkusen should keep Skibbe for one more year to let the team grow

    but REALLY

just like Slomka and Schaaf: none of the three have the foggiest how to instill a winning mentality and composure

the stuff that Rehagel and Mourinho are good at

Schaaf should be sacked this season
    Slomka should be 50-50
Skibbe one more year to decide then

I just hope Lothar will join the Bundesliga next season; ditto Schuster; this is getting ridiculous

More like Dutch realism...allthough he is a german anyway. Born in Limburg...which was part of the German Bund anyway.

Makaay must be getting his rest, instead of hanging out in Munich.

Makaay's German is better than Bommel's

    both are good though

I hope Bayern, Sporting, PSV and Leverkusen get through

    Bayer are unlikely now

the overall quality is not very high, unfortunately

    just like in the CL

they should merge the two competitions

Zenit were really really good. Pretty much certain to go through as Leverkusen have to score 4 in St Petersburg.

I don't think PSV can play any better (though I am no dutch football follower so correct me if I am mistaken) whilst I have seen Fiorentina play much better. So I can see Fiorentina win by nicking a goal in Eindhoven.

I don't rate Sporting but Rangers haven't been too good away so this I think will go to penalties. With Rangers to go through

Munich-Getafe, don't really know enough about Getafe but I'll say Bayern just to pick one.

Not a horrible result for Rangers. They will play ultra defensive in Portugal and it will be difficult for Sporting to score. Nick the first goal on a corner or something and i'd fancy them from there.

Some people say Rangers have been so lucky this season, when they go to Portugal they probably will come back with Madeline McCann Laughing

Thanks Getafe on costing me 300 quid c**ts!

Bet on Rangers and you'll lose another 300...

The whole league plays defensive in Alvalade...it'll be nothing new.
