Rooney was great as well. Rio motm - were you watching Bobo?

This team is truely great, and is clearly the best team in the world right now. I hope so much they win the cl because it really deserves to win it.

If that's the case then we should all just give up.

Rooney, Scholes, Evra and Rio are credible but the rest are gash.

    Not Micky Carrick?

Has ability yet still manages to be tiresome.

Don't be silly. If you watched this game you will realise you have a huge chance. Xavi, toure and iniesta should be able to pwn anderson, scholes and co.

It will be decided by how well barca defend against united's set pieces and FC ronaldo's long shots. If messi and eto are fit and firing then I'll be putting a lot of money on that you will win Biggrin

Barca have outplayed the very best teams away from home in europe recently, united have not. Have faith, and if you don't watch a little repeat from the san siro last season Wink

You tried to rubbish it but Pool get whooped, Villa was the best performance you'll ever see, and now beating roma in rome, where they are undefeated for a long time, and even longer solely just in europe. and it wasnt really difficult, it could maybe have been more than 2-0 if you include carrick ronaldo's great chances straight after 2.

This team is amazing and it proves it all the time.

Lrd it was a horrible display mate. Even you cannot dispute that the first goal came completely out of the blue with your first shot. You were getting battered in the second half and then roma gift you a goal which was also incredibly lucky.

United have a long way to go before you can call them the best team in europe. This match today gives fuel to people like me who say united are not as a great a team to watch as people try to say. It was shocking stuff

Barca will be favourites for me. You will get pwned in the nou camp <Ale>

1:1 would have been a fantastic result

0:2 .. is more than unbelievable

Roma simply had no cutting edge, still a great team.

Van der Sar again makes a WC save .. but always remembered for his mistakes Rolling Eyes

Carrick & Scholes .. the bosses of all bosses. Hargreaves came on at the right time.

Ronaldo & Rooney .. better than Jebus.

De Rossi was Romas best player, glad he didn't do any damage.

Not many teams win in Rome against Roma so this was a very big win ok

Oh yeah but ask Valdano about that im sure he will give you a vivid description. i thought it was Cr@p what we saw today but not surprised as you may know i dont really rate Cl football too much post-2004. Roma didnt played better then man utd in most of the same but they didnt do much in the first half. in the second half they did very well but Roma choked on their chances as they tend to do. Roma should have gone attacking from start because man utd are better at the defensive game then roma. imo they should use both Totti and Vucinic in the return leg with Totti behind a striker as i like to see him.
sad for italian football but they have to get a bit back to their roots.

Nope im with you. it is this kind of performances that is wrong with football today. minimum effort and a maximum result.
I though you liked watching Fronaldo.
When have i said that? i thought he was good to watch around 2004 at the euros but i have been disapointed when i have seen him against good sides.

    <Ale>
Are you telling me pace is not an important part of Messi or Quaresma or Van Persie play or height and strength in Ibra or Berbatov.
If messi didnt have pace he would be the most predictable player in the world. he has the close control but his pace is so great that that combined with great close control he is almost unstopable at times. and im not taking anything away from him because most of the time the players we look to for entertainment are fast players. thats why i respect zidane, totti more. also i think it is nonesense that ronaldo is not entertainng. i have been let down by him a fair few times in the big games but when man utd play i hope they give the ball to him. maybe that makes me a simpleton.
Its a shame that when ManU give the ball to him he doesn't give it back.
he can be good to watch at times but in big games it has been boring. in last 20 mins he had the chance to get one on one and didn't do much.
How about Derby, Spurs, Everton, ManC, in fact any team other than annual bend-over-backwardly Villa and Newcasle?

I only brought it up because I have had to carry the can for tha majority of the time for criticising the ugliness of Fronaldo this season with only Coater and Pierre supporting me and Pierre only hates him because Fcronaldo has pace.

I said it before and I'll say it again. I don't particularly want to not like Fronaldo:
Rooney always scores agianst us and ended our unbeaten run with a dive yet I rate him.
I don't like DPLs yet I have praised Carriack's recent performances.
I hate that Scholes consistently getting away with yellow card fouls when he would probably play get double yellow like 5 times a season but I still rate him as the best passer in the PL.
I hate that Rio is a hoofer yet I rate him as the best defender in the PL (IMO King and Woodgate are naturally better).
I hate Nani's face and his attitude (Fronaldo markII) but I still rate him as one of the best talents in Europe.

For me it would be easier to like Fronaldo and not be mocked for saying that Hleb and Aguero (just to name two) have performed better this season. But I have to say it again. I don't like players like Inzaghi, Trezequet, Cruz and now Fronaldo who only score and don't do much else.

    ?Celtic, Rangers?

I told you and deep down you know how good this team is COTR Biggrin

This match today gives fuel to people like me who say united are not as a great a team to watch and people try to say. It was shocking stuff

Barca will be favourites for me. You will get pwned in the nou camp <Ale>

    P.S Clive Anderson lol!

Barca wont be favourites with their own supporters.

Horrible display? dear oh dear. It was the perfect away performance. Of course they would have to come at man utd in the second half, they couldn't go to old trafford with anything less than a win. But not surprising we picked them off and basically ended the tie.

You claimed the team plays rubbish football every week COTR, yet for some reason it keeps getting compared to the best brazil teams, and on the weekend displayed the best performance you will see anywhere all season.

You appear more deluded than when pool were gonna win the title.

Ronaldo > Best Northern Ireland's finest nothing on this guy Biggrin <Ale>

    Ronaldo doing something skillful ?

Miss his goal v Villa Laughing

Good idea but not technicall demanding at all - any of us can do it.

Its as "skillful" as Henry v Charlton.

Yes im sure if you put on a manu shirt and the ball arrived to you from a corner you would pull that off

Wake up pierre Ronaldo is a special special player.

    Yes - he's very special isn't he <Ale>

Resorting to pretty pointless homourless stuff. I'll take that as an admission of being completly wrong yet again.
