Oh no...the Valencia rumour was in relation to Moya (who isn't very good IMO)...but it was from El Soplo so it's most likely pure fabrication.

Looks like Dani Guiza to Fenerbahce is official - 17.5 m euro. It's a shame for la liga to lose a player like Guiza. I'd have liked to see Villarreal go for him.

Tis' a shame. He would been great at Valencia or Villarreal in particular. Surprised a club like Roma or Florentina weren't in for him.

Mavuba makes a permanent move to Lille. What a pointless signing for Villarreal. He couldn't have made more than a handful of appearances last season before going on loan. Anyone remember what they paid for him? It's rumoured that Lille are paying 7m. for him now.

Getafe have signed Turkish defender Ibrahim Kas from Besiktas. According to Spanish media, the 21-year-old, who missed out on a place in the Turkey squad for Euro 2008, has agreed a four-year contract.

Aston Villa had a bid accpeted for Eidur Gudjohnsen...however he rejected it straight away. He wants to move to us, but we are currently dragging our feet (apparently waiting for Zamora to join Fulham for £6m) and then we can complete a £5m deal for Gudjohnsen. I epxect it to go through soon...probably after Zamora goes to Fulham.

c**t. I swear, he's happy to pick up 60k or 70k a week (or whatever ridiculous sum he's getting) and tan himself on the beach. 5m pounds is a disgrace too, can't believe we're getting just half of what we paid though I guess we can't really bargain on this issue.

Luque's looking for a move back to Mallorca. The only way I'd even consider it, if I were Manzano/Pons, were he to accept a significant reduction in his wages.

Re: La Liga Summer Transfer Thread
Real Madrid outcast Roberto Soldado is allegedly on the verge of an €8m move from Real Madrid to Getafe. Meanwhile Esteban Granero is weighing up the prospect of spending another year at the Coliseum on loan from los blancos...
The Madrid paper reports that Soldado's agent, one Alberto Toldrá, is close to mediating between the Bernabéu side and Getafe.
Geta originally offered 6m for the striker, but Madrid wanted 10m, thus middle ground of 8m seemed to be the natural choice.
Speeding negotiations was the fact that Angel Torres, Getafe's president, is on good terms with Real Madrid due to being a socio of the capital club.
Soldado is said to still be disappointed after failing to break into the Madrid first team last season, but Getafe are regarded as the 'next best thing' due to his being able to remain in the city of his wife and daughter.
Having already refused moves to Greece, a switch to Benfica was also ruled out due to the 'Luso' side not being able to afford the transfer.
Esteban Granero, meanwhile, has already stated his intention not to rejoin Getafe for a second loan year, but there is every chance that Madrid coach Bernd Schuster could recommend to the player that he change his mind.
If the blancos bring in another creative midfielder in the transfer window then a year on loan at the Coliseum could well be Esteban's best option. This would allow him to grow as a player, which would also please his manager, who regards him as "One for the future."
Good move for Soldado; gets more playing time and stays in Madrid

Poulsen to Juventus is more or less confirmed...I think the price will be his buyout clause, which is somewhere around 10-12m euros.

Re: La Liga Summer Transfer Thread
He is a good player though. His passing is much improved, and he does a good job of shielding the defence. If Capel leaves, the fans might be up in arms. That would be 4 first XI players leaving in the same season.
I don't know anything about the quality of the players they have brought in, but Keita & Poulsen are huge losses. They've got a good CM in Renato, though I'm not sure the likes of Maresca are good enough to play week in week out.

Re: La Liga Summer Transfer Thread
Well I hope we accept City's bid of 32m euros
But more likely are the rumours that Galliani will be in Barcelona over the next couple of days to meet with Txiki/Laporta and Ronaldinho's agent, with Milan to pay a 10m euro fee as a deposit. And I presume they'll negotiate the rest later? Not quite sure tbh. But the move is basically being accelerated because I really can't see Ronaldinho starting pre-season training at the club. Let Milan deal with his fitness issues and but-I-want-to-play-in-the-Olympics tantrums (though I think it's in our interest to get him fit and send him to Beijing).
