How much would Arsenal fans value Flamini at, £10m?

Mascherano/Hargreaves cost around £17m - Flamini at 24 would probably command a similar fee.

But so far Flamini has only had one really good season in CM for Arsenal.
Mascherano - has been classed as a world class DM for a number of years.
Hargreaves - key player for Bayern, had a good world cup.

I'm not haggling with you.
It's ironic since he made his name at Marseille when in the final season of his contract which lead to Arsenal signing him on a Bosman.

I would say £12m.
Bit disrespectful to be wearing the shirt, when we still have one more game to go in our season. Flamini will probably be a home for the Sunderland game anyway.
We can replace him easier than people think.

Well...if Milan offered 12m for him 2 years ago you would all bring him to Italy on a bicycle.
It remains a very limited player.

I'd say it's more than a bit disrespectful, it's fucking disgusting.
You're right though Cesc, as I said already in the Arsenal thread: just as Flamini stepped up this season one of the squad midfielders will next year. The DM role is one of the easier positions to perform competently in, as Phil Neville and Momo Sissoko will testify.

So he leaves a guaranteed starting spot he has fought for years to get, for a spot on the bench behind gattuso and pirlo. All for the sake of an extra ten grand a week
He is clearly going for the sunshine

Theres been rumours that Gattuso is leaving, possibly to the EPL for one last pay cheque.

Nasty c**t replacing nasty c**t, would make sense i guess. Flamini is one of the better ball playing DM's out there. Think it's a big loss for Arsenal, and could make Hleb's mind up.

Pirlo and Gattuso have had stagnant seasons. And judging by his performances against them I think he will have a reasonable chance of starting.

on current form he'd ahead of gattuso if he stayed, but all the signs are that he's going
ambrosini is ahead of him though for the moment if they play 2 in central midfield, gattuso was on the right wing yesterday, all depends who else they sign and if they go 4-3-2-1, 4-4-2 etc

This seems a questionable move for every concerned party. Flamini leaves after a season in which he finally established himself in Arsenal's first team, after a season in which he formed, with Fabregas, a true partnership in the centre of the field. I think Flamini is a very capable player, but it took him so long to excel at Arsenal, and his partnership with Fabregas was so crucial to this, that his move to Milan seems like a huge risk on his part. Milan are paying a lot of money - one of the biggest wages in Serie A if reports are correct - for someone who might take time to adapt, and who hasn't shown consistent quality so far in his career. He should fit in Milan's 4-3-2-1 - could his energy allow Milan to switch to playing only one DM beside Pirlo? - but he needs to prove his ability, and it's not easy to form quality partnerships in the centre of midfield.
Meanwhile, Arsenal lose, for nothing, a player who has certainly been amongst their three or four best this season, in probably the most important area of their team. I would agree that he is replaceable, but it remains for Wenger to replace him. I think Hleb is replaceable too, though he is a key part of the team at the moment, and if I was Arsenal I would be keen on keeping him - but I think it's worrying that Flamini and Hleb have supposedly been Fabregas's closest friends at Arsenal, and that both might be gone by the start of next season.
I don't get why Flamini has gone over and posed in the shirt with a game left to play for Arsenal - I don't see how he can play in it now. He seems a reasonably quiet guy - on the one hand he has kept Arsenal waiting for a long time, whilst obviously concluding things with Milan, and for me that isn't the most noble way to behave - on the other, perhaps he feels that Arsenal haven't made enough effort to keep him, haven't shown him due respect now or in past seasons as regards his abilities. But it still seems disrespectful.

Not sure if milan will stay 4-3-2-1
ronaldo might be back next season and even if not, I don't think pato can play the lone striker role that well so chances are they will probably get another striker and either end up going 2 up front or kaka-pato just behind the striker, which means 4 players for 3 places: seedorf, pirlo, flamini and ambrosini
flamini for now is by no way certain of starting

He's a fine player and its only natural that he should want to better himself.
Will they go for Adebayor next ?
That would be a great signing.

excellent news
Bayern were interested in Flamini
the Frenchie is not Bayern quality though
means that Gattuso is now the hot favourite to join the Bavarians
far better choice

Arsenal poached him for nothing due to him not having a pro contract with Marseille, so they shouldn't be complaining and bitching and saying 'it's all about the money'.
It isn't all about the money. Arsenal fucked him over year after year, and after his breakthrough season the year they got to the CL final they dropped him again, giving the captain's armband to his most direct positional rival (Gilberto). They could have signed him up to a new contract last summer but didn't. As such, Wenger made a massive error in judgement, didn't realise how good a player he had on his hands (even if he never repeats the form of this season) and has lost out on a potentially 10M+ transfer fee.
So much for him being a wonderful judge of a player, and a master of the transfer market.
Flamini's gone for more money, better weather, the chance to play in a new league and the possibility of actually being treated with some respect. Arsenal only have themselves to blame.
