I thought France were alright at times vs Holland, the scoreline was pretty harsh. without Robben's super-quick reply, France could well have got back into that.

Haven't you ever learned not to bug those who are mentally challenged, it should be quite clear to you that Otto can't be blamed for his "lesser" intellectual capacity

Otto, the GAS countries were all HORRIBLE!!! Its amazing that there is so much positive football in the middle of two non-football countries!

The Austrians even impressed me the most of the three...and they have on paper the worst squad of all the GAS countries!

I don't think you can group Italy and Germany together like that. Italy are pacing it better than Germany so far, as they've ended the group on a big high, going through when it looked like they might go out. This puts them in a good frame of mind for the knockouts.

Germany started fine, but then took a big knock to their confidence in the second game, and crawled through unimpressively against Austria - makes it difficult to then step it up for the Portugal game (although having said all that, I think you'll win tomorrow)

Of the 8 that have qualified, all but Italy and Germany have impressed me greatly in these championships.

For obvious reasons, Holland have been the most impressive and I hope they now go on to lift the trophy. I'd be happy with any of the other five winning it though

I agree most with this.

For the quarterfinalists:
- Italy for example did play well against romania and ok against france although they were a man up.
- Russia were poor against spain in the first game, of course missing arshavin.
- Croatia although great against the germans were poor in the first game
- Turkey I feel have been rather fortunate after being poor aaginst portugal, defelected winner against the swiss and cech mistake, so they have received a ecrtain amount of luck to get where they are

For the ones that are out:
- Romania did pretty well considering the group they were in, should have tried harder against the ducth though
- Austraians have done better than anyone could have expected
- The greeks and the polish have been the worst
- France also did ok against the Netherlands certainly better than Italy did, and they lost their best player and went a man down in the last game and it still took a defelected free-kick for the italians to seal the win, so they are not quite as bad as people are making out
