Slightly different. The top English players are found out when they play internationals. Once removed from the accomodations from their respective teams such as Terry being protected by real world class players, Lampard reaping the benefits of the Chelsea system built around him, the same with Gerrard at Liverpool etc etc Raúl can actually play.
However his presence breaks team harmony. He carries Real Madrid into Spain automatically causing the rest to go to their own groups like Puyol leading his Catalans, Villa and his Valencianos. Without Raúl, they're all in it together as one team as you can appreciate.

I think so too. You see Frank, EVEN IF Aragonés wins this Euro he will suffer from the Raúl omission. I doubt the RFEF will extend his contract.

But that moment instantly gives Germany a huge psychological advantage. Spain already know they will have it really tough to keep the ball and continue their short passing, no matter where the ball is on the pitch.

Re: Euro 2008 Final - Germany vs. Spain
Spain can't get it past the Germany midfield line, which is staying compact and very close to its defense. Meanwhile, Germany are getting some freedom to attack down the flanks. Ramos needs to wake the f@ck up. No wonder Aragones hates him.
