Arsene Wenger is reported to have lost patience with Emmanuel Adebayor and will allow the player to leave once he has found a replacement, according to The Guardian...
Ze Togolese striker has been in demand this summer following his breakthrough season with the Gunners. Milan and Barcelona have been the two clubs in pursuit, and while at first the player was adamant he would remain at the Emirates Stadium with Arsenal, there have been hints of a departure in more recent weeks.
Milan were desperate to land the man who scored one of the two goals that knocked them out of the Champions League last season, so much so that vice-president Adriano Galliani declared he was their sole transfer target for the summer, only to eventually be priced out of a move, with an astounding £35 million reported to be the asking price for the powerful forward.
Barcelona's interest has threatened to die out for similar reasons, but they are thought to still have the striker in their sights following a £5 million price drop to £30 million, with an agreement having been reached.
The Guardian contends that manager Arsene Wenger has grown tired of the striker's ongoing uncertainty and inconsistency regarding his future and will be ready to sell as soon as a replacement can be acquired.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta will be eager to seal the signing of a striker as soon as possible, as he is under pressure at the club and a new signing before the imminent elections may do enough to appease his opposition, with Samuel Eto'o resigned to leaving Camp Nou this summer.
