Supercoppa Italiana 2008 Empty Supercoppa Italiana 2008

Inter vs Roma, for the 3rd consecutive time.... on 24 August!

Inter play the supercup for the 4th successive year, and play Roma for the 3rd successive year....

Inter won for 2 years, and then lost to Roma last season.... this is the time for revenge... Mourinho's first chance to win some silverware for Inter, even though this is just a supercup.

Who do you think will win? Will Roma avenge the scudetto defeat, or will Inter avenge the Coppa final defeat?

We have bigger issues, dude... after having our entire defence and backups out injured, now looks like our starting strike pair (Ibra-Adriano) are both out injured Sad

    Ibra’s Knee Breaks Down Again
There are fitness concerns once again over Zlatan Ibrahimovic after he reported severe pain in his troublesome left knee. Ibrahimovic has suffered terribly with a chronic knee injury this calendar year, and this forced him to miss most of Inter’s Scudetto run-in last season.

The problem cropped up while on Euro 2008 duty with Sweden, while he limped out of Inter’s first pre-season training session last month after just 20 minutes.

The forward returned to training a few weeks ago, and he has been working his way back into action, playing in both the Amsterdam Tournament and the Eusebio Cup.

He was due to play for Sweden tonight in the friendly against France, but pulled out of the game yesterday. Originally it was reported that this move was just as a precaution so that he could rest ahead of Inter’s Italian Supercup match against Roma on Sunday.

However, it has since been reported that Ibrahimovic’s troublesome knee injury has come back once again, and there are serious fears over whether this problem will ever go away.

"I feel strong in the knees and legs,” Ibrahimovic insisted.

“At the end of the last game [against Benfica last Friday] I felt a slight discomfort, but after two days of rest everything was fine.”

Only a few hours later though, Ibrahimovic broke down in training for Sweden, and is said to have been in real pain. The frontman is now considered a huge doubt for the Supercup, and with Adriano also out injured, Inter will not be ideal condition up-front.

Luckily you have the best depth in European Football. <Ale>

We're goona play a keeper who conceded 5 goals on his Debut, Montella who looks about as useful as a 50yo and an overweight Brazilian guy on the wing on his debut. Erm

I have a feeling that Baptista will come good for you, he will click very well with Totti and Vucinic, 3 powerful physical players forward could beat down defences.

Yeah, the depth is helping... tho apparently Mourinho is planning to trim down the squad this summer, I hope he has learnt by now that the San Siro pitch creates more injuries than normal over a season.

Thanks mate, great game... I was away during the weekend, butg managed to catch this game live in Zurich.... very attacking game, and what a great game Balotelli had... he was just amazing. Easily the brightest attacking talent in Italy at the mo. Okaka had a good game too, and Doni saved some brilliant ones.

Its always good to start the season with a trophy, it sets a winning mentality. A bit worried to see Cambiasso still being played as a CB, we miss him in the middle.

Best moment of teh game, Javier "Il Capitano" Zanetti scoring the winning penalty..... a fitting end.
