Never Wallcott only had once chance.. If Beckham was out there we would be in more trouble...

Well played England so far...was also amused by Walcott starting and until the goal he was pretty poor. Rabbit in headlights, that's the impression I always get. But he got lucky with the goal thanks to some bad keeping, and after that was much more confident, really probing and thrusting at Croatia down their left flank. Simunic taking him out of the game was basically the same as Del Horno's Mourinho-instructed hatchet job on Messi in that CL game at Stamford Bridge. Can't deal with him, so take him out of the game.

Croatia have fallen prey to their own hype and didn't play at all in the first half, just went in too relaxed thinking they would easily dominate. Bilic will have really laid into them at halftime. 2nd half will be interesting, but I can see England going on to win now, which could be a massive turning point for this group of players.

Thing with Walcott is he is one of those players who is going to lose the ball alot but you need to take that risk as there is not much pace or creativity in the side. Him being there also helps to occupy players leaving space for the likes of Rooney and J.Cole etc

to be fair to Frank Lampard, what he lacks in quality he makes up for in wages.

F@ck me, that was outrageous from Kovac. Deserves a red and an additional suspension on top of it. Croatia have really lost it, just kicking about wildly. Their possession of the ball consists of Modric fannying about with the ball and gradually moving upfield till he finally loses it because of the lack of any passing options.
