So who's more likely to start this weekend...Agger or Dossena?

Hmmm...ok, I'll go with Agger then. He's probably more likely to score than Dossena. Only thing I'm worried about is Agger being taken off early for Hyppia due to fitness (CL match midweek) reasons.

......................Reina......................
..Arbeloa....Carra...Agger....Dossena
.Benayoun...Masch...Alonso...Riera.
...................Kuyt...Keane.............
For me tommorow v Wigan.
I'm not ruling out Hypia strarting though. If anyone knows how to play againist Heskey it would be Sami. Still hope Agger starts mind you and I believe he will get the nod to start.
Aurelio we need fit for Atletico and the Chelsea game.

Re: Liverpool Football Club 08/09
Football wise, playing Hyppia perhaps does make more sense in that he's fitter and can handle Heskey better. But hopefully Benitez goes with the logic that Agger should start and get some match practice before the CL game, since Hyppia is ineligible for that.

Don't know. Gerrard for Masch then. Someone told me he picked up a knock and was a doubt and I haven't had a chance to watch the news or check it out yet. Was going to so in a bit anyway to make sure.

Re: Liverpool Football Club 08/09
I can perhaps see Rafa going with one up top, Gerrard supporting... Kuyt out right, Rieira out left.... leaving him the opportunity to change things to a 4-4-2 later in the game if he needs.
Simply due to the injuries reducing the starting options.

If there's a match to rest Gerrard in it'll be this one, hectic schedule in the next couple of weeks and this should be the easiest fixture.

The next person to say scrappy results and character win championships, in reference to Liverpool...
There's no way we will win anything playing like this. Chelsea will batter us next weekend if it happens again.

Chelsea next, i'd take a draw, a win would be better than a threesome with Cheryl Cole, Jessica Simpson and some other fit woman.

It's a cliche but we are seeing just why it's so true. United and chelsea have been getting 'lucky' wins like this for years to sustain a title challenge and we are finally starting to know what it feels like
Every match is different mate. We've generally been playing very well this season. Marseille, everton, United and Psv in particular mixed in with the games where we have had to fight to win. It's not realistic to think any team will play well every week
Chelsea will be a totally different game in the way both rafa and the players approach it.
P.S It was awesome to see agger back even if it will take him a few games to get up to speed

Fucking Man City reject, you know who you are my fellow Reds
Just watching the highlights now. Said it before and I'll say it again, an awesome buy from Rafa. I can see why Espanyol wanted £15M orginally.
Great seeing him score his first goal on his bad foot aswell.
Skillful, intelligent, deceptive burst of pace and he has heart

just watching football first, I wonder if Alonso is shooting on sight because of an instruction or because he's bored.
Kuyt's first goal: Agger runs with the ball from the centre back position, beats every Wigan player before picking out Kuyt who slots. Wonderful stuff

The little dummy he does on Cattermole is brilliant
Is there a better CB who can attack better than him. Don't think so. He is such a great weapon to have. Just needs a game or 2 to sort out his positioning and his understanding with Carra and all will be grand.

Re: Liverpool Football Club 08/09
I'm sure Kuyt relished having the opportunity to play through the middle yesterday, and is finally showing he can become a player who steps up to take responsibility.... whilst hes always worked hard, he only really stepped up on a weekly basis this season, which is great for us, as it demostrates we have yet another winner in the team and at his age and now experience, another leader on the pitch... for every bit of industry he has brought to the team i'm sure all of us fans couldn't have wished for a better person to start proving their worth... One for Kuyt
Riera has definately given us great natural width, a little bit of guile and good quality, he will always as a result help contribute providing the team with goals... if he can chip in with a few goals this season as well, he will have proved his weight in gold.... as we all know Gerrards back has been broken with carrying the goalscoring expectation, and then Torres... should the likes of Kuyt, Riera and Babel be able to help reduce that burden, that could be the catalyst to consistantly grinded out the results week in week out.
Agger - even though his mistake was horrific, i thought apart from that defensively he was OK, it was Carragher whom i thought wasn't overly impressive, Zaki proved a real physical handful for him at times, and was also stretched when ran at... Agger + Skrtle is definately the better footballing combination for our backline... we just need either Agger or Skrtle to develop a leadership quality to direct the back line, until then Carragher will always be a natural starter...
All in all, great game of footy... and this result has given more more hope that we can really challenge in the league than any other this season.

Funny how Kuyt continually gets slagged off by Pool fans. He has one of the highest point hauls on the FF game. From the top of my head, only Lampard, Zaki and Arteta have my points on the game.
He must be doing something right.

This season he is
Where last year he should have got goals and assists just on how many yards he ran.... this season he is actually getting goals and assists...
The Liverpool fans love Kuyt for his industry, however the reality is, we want to win the league and we need our forward players to deliver in order to do that... Kuyt has not been exceptional statiscally for us, this season he has started to deliver, which is fantastic for him, us and the team
