Just wondering what exactly you may know about Sporting's squad that would make your assessment about Bayern being a huge favourite anything more than a biased opinion.

I won't even begin to disupte the claim, but I just don't understand how people reach these conclusions...

Those of you who have an idea about both, fair enough.

I don't know too much about Sporting apart from a few individual players (as most probably do), but based on the Barça games, I do think Bayern will be able to outscore them. Sporting need to try and stifle Bayern because the Germans definitely give up chances at the other end, and a home win in Portugal could win the tie. Bayern on the other hand will probably go to the 2nd leg happy with a draw.

Of course Bayern is the big favourite. Any good German team should be favourite against any good Portuguese team, just as teams from Italy, Spain or England would be.
The best Sporting can hope for is that Bayern have two off days when the games are played. If not, they'll probably be eliminated by a record Champions League score of 94-0.

Hopefully Sporting will provide a surprise against Bayern. Would love for Bayern to go out early. Not sure Sporting is up for it though. Haven't seen much of them except Cl but they seem a bit in transition.

I think we can beat Sporting no offence, even with the current form we are displaying, some of our individuals will be stand out and the difference, our team play is not great at the moment specially.

We were crap allthough Liverpool were worse but if you can't beat any teams at home then you don't really deserve to go through. Not unexpected from us because I feared we would prob choke when we would met the athletes.

To be honest you'd struggle against most sides, athletes or not as you're not good enough at the moment.

Fucking hell, that was a surprise from Bayern - full strength team, and then another absolute mauling. Sporting didn't look like they helped their case much though - that own goal Doh , that defending/keeping for Podolski's overhead kick Doh

Bayern will be a bit more feared now, but they have to be careful not to build too much false confidence based on this win. If they are drawn against an English side other than Arsenal, they'll really suffer.
