Have to agree, Franck has taken some good ones, and it is a bit clichéd to take the "if you've got a German let him take it" attitude, but yes. Klose is a bit rubbish at penalties I think, but my surmise is that Poldi is the best penalty-taker at the club, followed by Schweini.

That was an enjoyable moment for Jens fans, which we had to make the most of given that there was little else to cheer.

Ah, forgot about Poldi, but he won't get much time on the field in the Rückrunde anyway Sad, but yeah he's def one of the best pen taker. Didn't intend to sound too cliché with my selection Laughing, but none of the non-Germans at Bayern do exactly strike me as decent penalty takers, though Ribéry probably isn't too shabby at taking them, if only he takes it more serious.

    HT in Dortmund and Leverkusen

Dortmund is one up against Bremen cheers

Boateng already with some good runs, showing bits of his great technique. Awww, I am so happy he's back; he's diving like a little baby though, but so is Diego!!!

In the other match Leverkusen is up 3-0 against Cottbus

    Haha, that's awesome!

BILD (yeah, I know) reports that Hoeneß was fuming after Ribéry’s missed penalty and in the half time break he himself, and not Klinsmann, told Schweinsteiger that he should take the next penalty.

Now Ribéry is being quoted as saying he doesn't care. "If Hoeneß has a problem with me then he needs to talk to me. But if I want to take another penalty like that, I will. That's my style of play. I will keep it like that. And if there is another penalty against HSV, I will take it."

    lol!

Uli's head slightly turned red this morning after reading this, I guess.

Missed the Bremen game last night for obvious reasons, though at least there's HIV-Lederhosen tomorrow.

I have to say I'm rather tired of this "if there's a penalty next time against whoever, I'll take it" after someone has missed – we had it with Beckham for England in the past when he kept missing, and finally Lampard replaced him, and Flumps himself let Micha take one (an astonishing one) against Werder in the CL when he'd missed a couple. It really should be quite straightforward – the team's best penalty-taker should take them, simple as that. Not biggest star, or captain, or most senior player. It's OK to be not great at them – some of the best players have been rubbish at them. And Franck after Zenit and this – dunno if he's missed any others – has made pretty clear he's almost certainly not the best at penalties, so the whole debate is silly...

(Think the national team has done pretty well at ordering its penalty takers like this – the order probably being Ballack, (Schneider), Podolski, Frings, Schweinsteiger, or something similar...)

what a c**t Ribery is turning into Yikes

    http://www.sport1.de/de/fussball/fussball_bundesliga/artikel_61120.html

having said that the Bayern bosses have blown so much powder sugar up his arse that it was inevitable Franck's head would swell

turns out his Ribery contract runs out in 2011

in 2010 he can leave Bayern on a "Webster" for a few million Euros

so really, Bayern have to sell him THIS SUMMER to cash in

any bets that Hoeness will fluff this one as well and get next to nothing ? Smile

Why are you so keen to sell Rüberie, Otto?

His antics off the pitch are getting tedious and he's surely not easy to handle. Bayern need someone of his calibre and quality though if they want to stand a chance in the Champions League; a bunch of Ottls and van Bommels are hardly of help against ManUnited, Barca et al.

Uli and Klinsi just have to find a way to keep the little French râleur in check, and I am pretty sure they will.

I liked your thingy about Lothar winning "the Jewish league", Ottolein Biggrin

Can't believe you posted Broder, I'm reading a book of his at the moment!

"Es ist, als ob die Kinder und Enkelkinder einer vergewaltigten Frau sich mit den Kindern und Enkelkindern des Vergewaltigers jedes Jahr zu einer Familienfeier an Opas Todestag treffen würden." Laugh

On that note, have a look:

and has you read a short/book called "Die Flatterzunge"?

You get to see a lot more of the girls than me at the moment mate Wink

    and re other randomness:

you never answered my Motzki question?

and what do you think of the Uwe Barschel affair?

I am not too familiar with Broder other than as a "Publizist"

his quote is indeed brilliant though and summons it up nicely

"Es ist, als ob die Kinder und Enkelkinder einer vergewaltigten Frau sich mit den Kindern und Enkelkindern des Vergewaltigers jedes Jahr zu einer Familienfeier an Opas Todestag treffen würden."

    lol!

you have a habit of answering questions by way of posting spiked-online links

you are not writing for them yournself, now are you ? Wink

the points about Spanish anti-Semitism were rather interesting

regarding our political chat show hosts

Illner just produced one of the worst hosting sessions of German TV history

    topic: German patriotism

it was ALL OVER THE PLACE

I don't think that lady has ANY jounalistic gifts or abilities

should become a society lady as wife of the CEO of D.Telekom

    regarding Motzki

he is the BEST German football has to offer Ale

a total legend who could even surpass Beckenbauer eventually

I cannot access his recent Kicker interview

go and read another one he gave to 11freunde.de instead

    Uwe Barschel:

looks like he was part of a Arms Sale plot

    almost certainly killed

the lad was actually quite talented

    wahre G

    ah, and incidentally

Ballack won the Goal of the Year competition with his piledriver against Austria
