I guess he is still relatively unproven at the highest level, but we'll see soon how well he does on the international stage and in the CL KO stages.

Re: best strikers around atm
I know he has been playing behind Vucinic most of this season but if Rooney and RVP are being counted, surely Totti should be considered as well - ditto messi and ronaldo who play just as far forward? the line between forward, AM and striker seems very blurred nowadays.
Tevez is someone who could be here if he were first choice at his club.

Messiah wrote:Eto'o is the probably the most complete striker in the world at the moment.(Drogba isn't as good a finisher and adriano is just not playing well)
he can lead the line, score with very part of his body, and even play the 2nd striker.
Villa is the shit and as someone said he needs to play for a team like barca for very one to see just how good he can be, be would score more goals than eto'o, but couldn't lead the line as well.
Ibra its just amazing the thing he can do, but not as prolific as the other two.
these three are the best, and it just a matter for tease, as to who people think is better.
after that the field isn't that great, they're players like torres/rooney/milito ext who are good, but not in those player class
then the pato's and benzema's who have the talent and are producing, but are not quite there yet.
If you have functioning eye-sight you can see how good he is by watching him play for Valencia and Spain.

i didn't say he couldn't do it at all, i know he does it very well i even said bojan would do well to learn from him, as they are both short, but IMO eto'o does it better.

No he has to start scoring and turning up against his team's rivals and stop scoring nine in four games than go twenty games without a goal.Rosicky wrote:toon h wrote:

Yeah i agree with Higuain. I find it strange that he's not being included in these lists since i'd easily put him in the current top ten given his current form.

IMO, Torres is the best striker in circulation. He is a predator in the box, and he is useful outside it. He has blistering speed, and he is also a big game player.
Pato, in about 4-5 years, will probably be one of the best strikers.

What a fickle bunch. Just because you're in form now doesn't mean you're one of the best strikers in the world.

Eto'o, Vucinic, Big Vince (much better than Amauri), Chevanton, Drogba, Adebayor.
Not all strikers but centre forwards rather than forwards or 2nd strikers (I know Vucinic starts LM sometimes mind you).

He has some good skill but he is poor striker of the ball. Rarely do you see him hit the ball cleanly or stroke the ball accurately.Fey wrote:Adebayor is a strange striker, he has the ability to play football yet most of his goals are tab-ins

Re: best strikers around atm
Every top league has some standout strikers.... there are strikers in form, and there are strikers with real class. If I have to pick one or two from the top leagues (just from the top of my mind), I would pick Ibra and Amauri as the best strikers from Italy, Eto'o and Villa from Spain, Drogba and Torres from EPL, and Benzema and Klose whom I rate the most outside the big 3 leagues.
These are the best strikers IMO. The ones with the most class, not necessarily the ones with the most goals this season. Of course, I haven't considered the likes of Messi, Kaka, CR, Totti, etc as strikers.

I thought a while between Toni and Klose, tough one, but Toni hasn't looked that convincing this season and age is definatelty not on his side - perhaps the slide has started.
Before you say it, I don't think the slide has started yet for Drogba. Just injury issues.

Re: best strikers around atm
Maybe, but regardless of injuries, Drogba has done nothing this season. So, he cannot be considered as he best around at the moment. Even Torres is not the same one as last year. Frankly, there's no outstanding striker at the moment in the EPL.

On form, I agree. On class, I would pick Torres and Drogba in the same level as the rest I selected...
Ibra
Amauri
Eto'o
Villa
Drogba
Torres
Benzema
Klose

I thought we are talking about form and not class. It says atm, and class as we know is permanent.

He is a UEFA cup, international tournament striker.
He is never Champions League or EPL top 4 quality.
