Keita: "I cannot start a final as left back"
http://fcbtransfers.blogspot.com/2009/05/keita-i-cannot-start-final-as-left-back.html
i was think this could also be a good back four, for the CL final
-----Caceres---Puyol--Pique---Slyvinho
it would almost function like our normal back four, expect this time slyvinho will play the alves role, with the entire defense switching to his side when he pushes up and it would allow pep to stick to his 3CB system that he loves so much with yaya covering them.

I'm definitely buying the keeper kit, but as long as it doesn't have that extra shoulder padding that some keeper jerseys do. Because that looks silly unless you're actually wearing it while playing as a goalkeeper. Don't even mind if it's only available in long sleeves.
Re. the fullbacks, was just wondering...what if Pep plays Puyol at LB? Do we have any options besides Caceres for RB?

That's horrible! It should be a smooth transfusion between shorts and jersey...

henry is backing training with the squad, i wonder if he will get a run out against osasuna to get back into the groove.
Muniesa has been training with the 1st time since return for the U-17's, i wonder if he will get a game before the season ends, he would probably be the youngest defender to ever play for barca
alves is out for the season

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has rejected his nomination for the prestigious Premio Principe de Asturias de los Deportes award.
The
former midfielder was nominated for the award this morning but has
moved quickly to say that he is not the right man to receive it.
The
award is given to a person, group of people, or institution that have
not only proved themselves to be positive influences but have improved
and surpassed others efforts in sport.
In his first season in
charge of Barcelona, Guardiola has certainly impressed; winning two
trophies already and on the verge of winning a third when the Catalans
take on Manchester United in the Champions League final next week.
Nevertheless,
he stated today that he is not deserving of this "prestigious" award
and said he would prefer it to be given to someone else.
"I am
thankful, but I would like it to be given to someone else. I believe
that it is a very prestigious prize and it goes to sportsmen who have
done things very well over long periods of time, where as my journey
has been short," Marca quote him as saying.
"I would like to say thank you from my heart, but I believe that we are only going through something small."
The winner of the award last year was Spanish tennis sensation Rafael Nadal, whilst before him Michael Schumacher won it.
Past winners include Fernando Alonso, Lance Armstrong, Severiano Ballesteros and Sebastian Coe.

Exactly right, he doesn't deserve it!

this Principe of Asturias is rapidly losing its allure and prestige with the penchant of the jury members to pick undeserving Spanish people like Alonso, Nadal and now Guardiola. They should pick someone with a long career behind them as a tribute, and people that have actually impacted on society through charitable work etc.

Pep's comments today indicate that he's definitely considering Keita as the 'LB'. But I mention it in quotes, because surely if the player himself is not 100% comfortable, then they will work on a 3-4-3-ish formation, even more so than when Alves is playing. The big risk of course, is that it will be Ronaldo on that flank.

Well that was a shit performance, even worse than Mallorca last week. Shows that we really need to work on our squad depth this summer, and Pep should maybe give the others more of a chance. Hleb and Gudjohnsen should be on their way out for sure, can't see much that justifies their big wages.
Caceres was decent I thought, just poor with his distribution. Victor Sanchez looks like he'll turn into our O'Shea: utility man who always puts in a 6/10 performance. Muniesa was quite good before the ref decided to be a dickhead. And apart from that the only worry is that Etoo gets the Pichichi out of his head and focuses on Wednesday night.

we didn't even create much is this game, unlike last week
yet again, jeffren does more that pedro in less time, he should be messi's back up next season
muniesa did exactly what i expected of him, well except getting sent off.
Sanchez actually looked good at RB, caceres was good but can't pass for shit as per usual
3 goals we have conceded now, for set pieces, we need to soft this shit out
