Dude an f.a cup semi final is a big game. It's a much bigger game than the one in midweek and tougher oppisition. Your team is nothing like the one that will play.

Ronaldo, Rooney and Evra will all play.

Little bit of FA Cup team news for you, very early clearly - we understand that Edwin van der Sar, Wayne Rooney and and Cristiano Ronaldo have not travelled with the Manchester United squad and will play no part at Wembley today.

affraid Well that is outrageous from Fergie. Especially Rooney who hasn't played nearly enough this season. I still cant see Macheda starting or Gibson but i guess we'll see.

Pretty clear that Ferguson is massively prioritising the league.

And Glenn will be glad to hear that I'm happy with this news, because I made Ronaldo captain of my fantasy team and now he'll definitely start against Portsmouth cheers

Rooney's injured, Ronaldo's jaded, it's not a massive shock. Ronaldo hardly had a rest since he came back from injury. VDS doesn't play cup games, or 2 a week so no big suprise there. The team should still be strong.

cheers I am confident again. This is one big gamble from Fergie. Tevez + Berbatov is hardly weak and Nani scholes park is still a decent midfield and the defence is pretty strong...with Macheda on the bench there is that covered as well. So you can see why he thinks he'll get away with it. But risky.

I think he just wants his fellow Scot Moyes to win and reach the final, and they could well beat Chelsea there, so that he gains some credibility for possibly being Man. Utd. manager when Ferguson retires.

Not really, but if this news is true, the team selection is odd enough to make any theory plausible Razz

Or he really is cracking up and overestimating the difficulty of all league opponents to make sure they don't chuck that away.

The best clubs in football are EPL big 4 and Barca.

The best 4 strikers without doubt are:

    Drogba
    Torres
    Eto'o
    Adebayor

    (order is irrelevant).

So there are 5 best clubs but only 4 best strikers and there we have United's main problem.

Ridiculous to spend all that money on a striker without pace.

I'm not joking when I say Iaquinta or Ricardo Fuller would do better for Man U than Berbatov - fergie hasn't had enough stick from the press for that purchase.

I think he basically went for the best striker available in the Premiership, and wasn't too concerned with pace because he has Rooney and Ronaldo to play off the striker. He probably mainly wanted a striker that could be the focal point of their attack up front, which Berbatov is...kind of.

United have Ronaldo Pierre, he deserves to be in that list.

Berbatov was a pointless signing but they wanted someone and he is a different sort of striker to Rooney/Tevez and Ronaldo.

That's the thing..he isn't. He drops deeper than Rooney half the time then is to slow to get in the box quick enough when we do attack with pace. He's a great player but maybe the wrong choice still will reserve judgement. The type of player he is it will take time for every player to understand him and vice versa

So Rafa shows contempt? yet Ferguson is playing Man United reserves in the FA cup semi final? I suppose as long as Riley is supporting them it doesn't matter who he plays! I just hope Riley doesn't forget he's reffing rather than sitting in the Man United end which will be packed today with the London faithful!
