The Spanish outfit want to give the out-of-favour striker a chance to revive his career back in La Liga.

With Carlos Tevez certain to leave Old Trafford, Barcelona are contemplating making an offer...

Barcelona could be preparing an offer for Carlos Tevez, after Manchester United confirmed the striker would be leaving the club.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana have been alerted to the news that Tevez is definitely on his way out of Old Trafford, as they seek to add depth to their forward line. Pep Guardiola is a keen admirer of the player, especially for his work-rate, a quality demanded of all Barcelona forwards.
However, Tevez would not come cheap, and it is uncertain whether Barca would be prepared to pay big money for a player who would not be a guaranteed starter.
Indeed, Tevez himself might be reluctant to move to a club with such attacking riches, given his frustration at not earning a regular place at Manchester United.
Still, with Samuel Eto'o's future still in doubt, the Cameroonian's possible exit could pave the way for a move for Tevez.
Barca will certainly face stiff competition for the Argentine, with a host of Premiership clubs, in particular Chelsea and Manchester City, said to be very interested.

any trueth to the rumor that they are looking to sell renan, i think he was pretty solid before he got injured and is worth keeping.

I've heard they want to loan Renan which is a bit odd because I thought he did rather well last year. Apparently they are closing in on Moya from Mallorca.

with the money they get from barca for villa, that should use some of it and sign negredo, he would be a good man to lead the line for them.
Ruud van Nistelrooy urges Dutch players to leave Real Madrid• Striker says he should stay, but compatriots must leave
• Tottenham Hotspur said to be keen to pick up Real's outcasts

Real Madrid's attempt to offload their contingent from the Netherlands has been given an unexpected helping hand by Ruud van Nistelrooy. The former Manchester United striker is claiming that all of Madrid's Dutch players should leave the Santiago Bernabéu, with one exception: himself.
Madrid aim to get rid of as many as nine players this summer in an attempt to clear space in the squad for new arrivals and raise cash as they add to the €160m (£136m) already spent on Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka. All of the club's six Dutchmen – Van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder, Royston Drenthe, Rafael van der Vaart and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar – has been available, alongside Javier Saviola, Mahamadou Diarra and the former Manchester United full-back Gabriel Heinze.
Both Sneijder and Robben have revealed that they are not keen to depart, though. "I have no intention whatsoever of leaving," Sneijder said. His agent Soren Lerby added: "Sneijder wants to stay and that's all there is too it." Meanwhile, Robben's father has dismissed suggestions that his son would play for Tottenham Hotspur and the winger told the club that he wanted to continue at the Bernabéu.
Madrid, though, are determined to sell Robben as they believe he is the one player that can command a huge fee as they look to recover as much as €100m in sales and saved wages this summer. They believe Robben, 25, could fetch as much as €30m. Madrid have warned Robben that he could be left out of the squad if he insists on staying and Van Nistelrooy has urged him not to take that risk.
"The Dutch players have big goals head of them, one of which is playing at the 2010 World Cup as starters," he said. "If they get offers from important clubs they should accept them.
"My situation is different," the 32-year-old Van Nistelrooy added. "I've just come back from a long injury and I still don't know what Madrid want to do with me. I would like to see out my contract. Besides, I don't know who would want to sign me right now."
Spurs have already shown an interest in Van Nistelrooy and Huntelaar as well as Robben. Huntelaar has also attracted interest from Turkey and the Netherlands, while there have been enquiries from Germany for Van Der Vaart, who played for Hamburg before joining Madrid, and from Italy for Sneijder. But the player Madrid have had the most enquiries for is Drenthe.

Where did you get that from?TheCrazy58 wrote:Japanese press are saying that it was financially driven - Nakamura's supposedly signed a Y240m p.a (about 1.7m EUR) deal which was substantially more than what Marinos (owned by Nissan who are doing as badly as any major carmaker) offered.
Real Madrid executive director, Jorge Valdano has revealed that his club will no longer pursue the transfer of David Villa, and that it is now up to Valencia whether or not they want to proceed any further with the transaction.
Los Che, who had looked set to cash in on ‘El Guaje’, have made a sudden U-turn over the past few days by declaring their star striker is “indispensable” after failing to receive any official offers to their liking.
“There is no possibility of negotiating with Valencia,” he told RNE [Radio Nacional de Espana].
“For the signing to go through, there has to be an agreement between three parties and Valencia have now changed their mind and they do not want to sell. If this is the case, then we have to respect their decision.
“I know [Valencia president] Manuel Llorente and how he defends the interest of the club. The same thing happened to us with Roberto Ayala.
“In the last day of negotiation, we were ready to pay what they had demanded from us, but they backed down. And because of that, we had to play a full season without a central defender.
“We are not going to face another full season again without a footballer. We will sign Villa if there is an agreement, otherwise we will look for another option,” he added.
When pressed if Diego Forlan, Karim Benzema or Zlatan Ibrahimovic are part of the alternative plan, Valdano replied cagily, “They have enough quality to play for Madrid, but I will not say if we are talking to them or not.”
The Argentine director general then admitted that the gargantuan transfer fees involving Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo has come back to haunt the club for the remainder of the summer trade period as they have now gone cold following a €160 million spending spree in a space of a week.
“Kaka and Cristiano are incomparable players and we have paid exactly what they are worth,” he explained.
“But now, clubs are coming back to us and demanding ludicrous amounts of money for their players because of what we paid for the Brazilian and the Portuguese.
“What we will do now is wait for the market to cool off because we are not willing to simply accept just any conditions,” he stressed.
Finally, Valdano rejected Barcelona president Joan Laporta’s notion that the Merengues will be under intense pressure to succeed next season following their massive reinforcements.
“Barca will have more pressure because of all the titles they won last season and because they have now set the bar very high,” he reasoned.
“Madrid, however, are in a rebuilding phase and the team will only be guided by the motivation to win every game.
“Our main challenge is the Champions League and it will be an even bigger target with Kaka and Ronaldo. In that sense, yes, we will be under pressure
