Yeah but Deportivo claim that the buy back clause was only activated for a payment 3,5m; the interesting thing is that Lafita is registered with the #18 shirt for Zaragoza and Deportivo does not list the player.

Heitinga ficha por el Everton y el Atlético no puede reemplazarle

Johnny Heitinga ha fichado por el Everton media hora antes de que se cerrase el mercado en Inglaterra. El Atlético percibirá siete millones de euros fijos y uno más en función de objetivos, según el acuerdo anunciado en la propia página web del club inglés, pero no podrá reemplazar al holandés, puesto que el plazo para fichar en España se extinguió la pasada medianoche.

El jugador ha llegado esta mañana a la ciudad inglesa procedente de la concentración de la selección holandesa para pasar el reconocimiento médico y, una vez superado, ha firmado un contrato por cinco años con el club inglés.

El Atlético, como esta misma mañana ha confirmado Cerezo, le había dado vía libre para negociar, pese a que sabía que si se marchaba no podría inscribir un sustituto. Según la cadena SER, el Atlético tenía apalabrada la cesión del lateral derecho del Milán Oddo, que la temporada anterior había actuado a préstamo en el Bayern, pero sólo daría vía libre a la operación si se marchaba el holandés. Heitinga, sin embargo, comunicó ayer por la tarde al Atlético que continuaría en el club rojiblanco, lo que invalidaba el acuerdo entre este y el Everton para el traspaso.

Sin embargo, el jugador ha cambiado de opinión hoy, probablemente porque el Everton le ha ofrecido mejores condiciones, y ha fichado por los 'toffees', donde le ven como el sustituto ideal de Joleon Lescott, que ha sido traspasado al Manchester City.

I know Heitinga didn't cover himself in glory last season, but none of the Atleti defence did really. Surprise he'd be sold without a replacement being brought in. Do they even have a RB now?

I suppose Perea will play at right back. Valera is another option although he is really a midfielder for me. Ujfalusi? I know he played there in Fiorentina. I don't know anything about this Leandro Cabrera fellow they signed, I thought he was a centre back but maybe he can play on the right?

Looks like Queen Lafita will be playing in Zaragoza after all. Lendoiro will be furious.

They won't risk playing him before this is sorted out. What I can't understand is why didn't Zaragoza just pay the full 3.5 million and be done with it?

So Lafita returned to Zaragoa to begin training...now Deportivo have informed the player that he must report to training in A Coruna. This isn't going to end any time soon.

The Lafita saga continues! Depor claim they hold his registration paperwork, Zaragoza say he will be training with them by Wednesday.

And Lendoiro's taking him to court for breach of contract. He wants him to come to his senses or pay the 25 million of his release clause.

La LFP decide que Lafita es jugador del Zaragoza

Lafita jugará en el Zaragoza según la resolución que emitió ayer la Liga, que aún está pendiente del recurso que interpondrá el Deportivo ante la Comisión de Licencias. La LFP justifica su decisión en que lo realmente relevante es la existencia de una cláusula de recompra en el contrato del jugador y no entra a valorar, al entender que no es de su competencia, cuál es la indemnización que debe recibir el club gallego, tres millones y medio, según su demanda, o tres, según el Zaragoza. Considera que este tipo de reclamaciones se tienen que efectuar ante otro tipo de organismos, como los tribunales. La licencia se le tramitaría a Lafita en favor del Zaragoza cuando haya sentencia firme.

El Deportivo anunció ayer que recurrirá ante la Comisión de Licencias, para lo que dispone de tres días. Con posterioridad, ambos clubes tendrán otros cinco días para presentar alegaciones. La asesoría jurídica del Zaragoza estudiaba anoche si Lafita podía empezar a entrenar ya con el equipo.

Deportivo y Zaragoza acordaron una opción de recompra de tres millones si se ejercía antes del 30 de junio y de 3,5 si se ejecutaba a partir de esa fecha. El Zaragoza defiende que es válido el primer plazo porque comunicó, antes de esa fecha, a la LFP su intención de hacerla válida. Para el Deportivo no es suficiente la notificación, sino el pago del dinero, por lo que se debe aplicar el segundo plazo.
