I think only Messiah believes you are signing Cesc. I don't believe that Laporta would make another Pique and not at that price. I don't know enough about the candidates but im just going by how the correlation Real Madrid and Barcelona have in terms of succes. It suggest that either Barcelona will be going down soon or that Real Madrid under Perez might not become a succes.

Villarreal interested in bringing Poulsen back to Spain. Tottenham are apparently interested in the Dane as well. According to the article he has already turned down an offer from Fenerbahce.

Marca specularting that Aston Villa could present an offer for Luis Garcia (Espanyol) of about 6m euro. Porto and Benfica also rumoured to be interested. Espanyol rejected a 10m euro offer from Porto last summer and the player is said to be more intrigued by playing in England as opposed to Portugal.

Not necessarily. Some would rather play in the top team in Portugal (with CL football) rather than the 6th place team in England and UEFA Cup football.

Surprised Sevilla haven't been in for him. He is much better then Zokora and has already proven himself in the club. Only thing that goes against him I think would be his age. Senna-Poulsen would be strong so Villarreal are making the right moves here.

    RUMOURSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

*Well, Almería was supposedly very close to signing Hernán Bernardello from Newell's but now Marca are reporting that Sevilla could swoop in because the transfer of Zokora is not moving as they expected.

*The option for Sevilla is Apoño from Málaga; what is working in their favour is that Málaga are interested in taking Duda and Lolo on permanent deals (both were on loan last year) so that could facilitate the transfer.

*Málaga was hoping to cash in on Jesús Gámez; the rejected a 4m euro offer from Valencia expecting Valencia would come back with an improved deal but then Valencia signed Bruno Saltor on a free Laughing Sevilla are also interested in Gámez but would only offer players and not cash.

*Barcelona are offering 20m euro for Mascherano. Laughing

*Carlos Bellvís (Valencia left back) is close to signing for Tenerife although Racing and Deportivo are both said to be interested as well.

*Lazio could be offering 6m euro to Zaragoza for Brasilian midfielder Matuzalem; representatives from Lazio will be in Spain at the weekend to discuss the transfer

They pay handsome (net) wages in Turkey. Another country where footballers get exceptional treatment when it comes to paying taxes.

    But Turkey isn't EU though.

AS reporting that Villarreal have signed Iván Marcano from Racing. Great signing for them. Marcano-Gonzalo could be a great pairing in the centre of defence. Also gives them an alternative for Capdevila at LB.

    http://www.as.com/futbol/articulo/villarreal-ficha-ivan-marcano-proximas/dasftb/20090702dasdasftb_55/Tes

    EDIT:

Just checked and it's on the Villarreal website as well.

    Jueves 02 Julio 2009

He reminds me a lot of Garay in the sense that when he first came up a couple years ago he demonstrated a lot of potential but then he has kind of stagnated recently. Versatile defender, will help cover the loss of Marcano.

I don't think you can say he stagnated. They signed Navarro and simply forgot about him. I'd would have like to have seen more of him at right-back when they were playing, the awful, Mosquera.

What I meant is that for a period Crespo looked like he was going to break into the Sevilla side, he'd done very well at the Mundial Sub-20 and then he seemed to fall out of favour - like you say, Navarro was signed for the left and then when Dani Alves went they preferred Konko or Mosquera on the right.
