There have been rumours from the beginning that we had a backup plan if we could not sign Villa. The first name was Forlan more recently it's Benzema.

If we don't get Villa, I would prefer we just go with Higuain and Negredo...and maybe keep RVN. Because although I think Villa is great and would love to have him, we really do need more players for the midfield, that should be the priority. And a left back.

Barcelona have offered 8 million for Felipe Luis but Depor are holding out for 20. They've already signed his replacement, a Colombian Brayam Angulo.

Depor are also in big trouble financially as they're starting to receive 'denuncias' from loads of clubs and players, for not having fully paid the transfer fees or wages.

In the end, they are reporting the sale of Mati fernandez at 4,5m euro plus Villarreal are to get a percentage of any future transfer involving the player.

They've made a very good signing in Arana. Castellón had a really good team last season but they're having to sell their best players: Dealbert to Valencia, López Garai to us, Xavi Oliva to Villarreal and they'll probably end up losing their best player, in Mario Rosas, on a free.

They're going to sign (or already have? ) Asenjo as the first choice, but I don't know about their backup, whether it'll be someone from the youth team or an experienced player.

For me it's interesting that Atletico haven't really moved in the market much yet. They got Juanito for the defense, but no one for fullback yet. Attack looks ok, depending on whether they keep the returning loan players like Reyes, Jurado, Cleber (as per Jaime's first post in the thread).

I wonder if it's a sign that they're more or less content with the team or don't have any more cash to spend (ie. borrow).

Asenjo's practically a done deal. One of Atletico's most promising players De Gea says he wants to go out on loan, so they'll probably sign another veteran to be his number 2.

They've signed Manu del Moral, another genius move from the directors - resigning one of their former canteranos, like they did with Antonio Lopez. Jurado looks like he'll stay.

Asenjo is close. I also saw them linked with another goalkeeper as well but I can't remember who now because with De Gea unlikely to stay they really need two.

*Osasuna could sell the other Flaño, Javier, to Numancia as well as Kike Sola in return for striker Carlos Aranda

*Apoño is in the agenda for both Villarreal and Sevilla. Fernando Sanz is looking to get some players in return: Jonathan Pereira, Marco Ruben, or Jozy Altidore in the case of Villarreal or Duda and Lolo from Sevilla

*Sevilla is the latest suitor for Espanyol's Sergio Sánchez. Valencia and Manchester city also rumoured to be interested in the versatile defender.

Sunny jugará cedido en el Betis con opción de compra

Rodrigo Fernández, agente de Sunny, indicó que el fichaje del joven jugador por parte del Betis está a la espera tan sólo de que el futbolista pueda viajar desde Nigeria, donde se encuentra en estos momentos o, por el contrario, de que el Betis le indique que estampe su firma en los documentos correspondientes vía fax.

El Athletic confirma el fichaje de Íñigo Díaz de Cerio

El Athletic Club confirmó que Íñigo Díaz de Cerio es su primer fichaje de cara a la temporada 2009/2010.

El ya ex delantero de la Real Sociedad suscribirá un contrato de cuatro temporadas, hasta el 30 de junio de 2013, con una cláusula de rescisión de 50 millones de euros.

Aunque el fichaje del delantero era 'vox pópuli' desde hace dos meses, el club rojiblanco ha esperado hasta 1 de julio para presentar al jugador, una vez que ha expirado el contrato que le unía hasta el 30 de junio con la Real Sociedad, en cuyo primer equipo ha militado durante dos temporadas y media.

La pasada temporada el guipuzcoano comenzó bien el curso, pero en el derbi contra el Eibar, disputado en Anoeta el 8 de noviembre, 'Iñigol' sufrió un encontronazo con el portero Zigor, que le supuso una fractura de tercio medio de tibia y peroné en la pierna derecha, y que le impidió volver a disputar minuto alguno hasta la fecha de hoy.

El América paga 4,2 millones por el traspaso de Mosquera

El América de México ha vuelto por Aquivaldo Mosquera y en esta ocasión ha sido para llevárselo. Los dirigentes aztecas pagarán 4 millones de euros por el traspaso del futbolista más el 5% de los derechos de formación del colombiano que están estipulados en unos 200.000 euros. La operación se oficializará probablemente entre el martes o el miércoles. De hecho, no se ha hecho antes porque sólo quedaba el acuerdo entre el jugador y el club mexicano.

Después de la negativa del Sevilla a los 3,2 millones de euros que ofrecieron los mexicanos en su primera intentona nada más concluir la temporada, ya anunciaron los dirigentes que volverían para llevarse a un futbolista que sigue conservando un gran cartel en Sudamérica.

No mentían. Hace una semana que los mexicanos volvieron a ponerse en contacto con el Sevilla para decirle que pretendía retomar las negociaciones y seguir apostando por el colombiano subiendo la oferta económica. Y así ha sido. En un primer momento la subida fue muy leve, aunque según fue avanzando la negociación, los dirigentes aztecas llegaron a los 4 millones de euros, que es en la cifra en la que el Sevilla tenía pensado pararse desde el primer momento. Además, se unieron los derechos de formación del propio Mosquera.

Lo cierto es que el Sevilla ha sabido negociar un producto, que parecía que no tendría mucho valor de mercado. Que los 8 millones invertidos no se iban a recuperar era algo obvio viendo el rendimiento del futbolista, pero sacar la mitad parecía también una utopía. Por ello, más de uno no entendió que se dijera no a los 3,2 millones.

Fue una estrategia de negociación que le ha salido bien al club, que ahora se encuentra con un ingreso que a finales de temporada no esperaba.
Es el primero de los cinco o seis futbolistas que el Sevilla quiere dar salida antes de que comience la pretemporada.
