In defence of Jol, I think Trochowski has a bit of an attitude problem. Benching him was obviously more of a pedagogic activity to get the best out of him. I don't blame him for that.

as for ginola
I think Jol will stay now that HSV play in the Europa League
HSV COULD and maybe SHOULD have won the Bundesliga title this season
Hoeness considered them to be the NUMBER ONE COMPETITORS FOR A VERY LONG TIME
this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and Jol blew it
VDV's departure IMPROVED HSV overall
Jol does not see it that way, but it's the truth
de Jong and Kompany are hardly top-notch either
instead HSV got Jansen and , really, Trochowski, who only played a bit-part under Stevens
the fact that Jol treated the Troch like SHITE and never used him to his full potential pisses me off the most
for the last game Troch did not even start
and was brought on towards the end at 2:2 when HSV would have been out of Europe
the Troch then scored the ALL-IMPORTANT goal and SAVED Jol's butt
Jol made MANY tactical mistakes and his manmanagement was poor as well
I would have to give this some thought , but it's possible he would not even make the top 50% of managers in my book
anyway, usually the second year is when you judge a manager
let's hope he survives that one
he is a nice lad after all
HSV will NEVER win the title with him though
you have my word on it
Seems you were right, Axe. According to Bild, Jol will indeed leave HSV and sign a 3 years contract at Ajax.Axeslammer wrote:Strong rumour has it that Ajax will confirm Jol as their manager tomorrow
I can't imagine a stranger combination : Ajax & Jol, wtf are theythinkingsmoking ?
Schuster zu Frankfurt? Das wäre wirklich Perlen vor die Säue...72-76-80-96-08 wrote:pity about Jol
he is a good guy
apparently, he wanted HSV to spend BIG this summer and the club CEO did not see it that way
anyway, as I said, in sporting terms this is NOT a big loss, even if I would have wanted to see what Jol can do in season 2
HSV could now go for Schuster or Slomka
I would not be surprised , if HSV found another Dutchie
Rijkaard or van Basten spring to mind
Schuster is also a candidate for Frankfurt

Quite surprising I must say.
