Nothing really except Germany has had one or two big chances but otherwise they haven't been impressive. Spain are doing nothing but passing it around without creating anything.Sgoater1 wrote:0-0 with 6 mins to go ! not been watching it cos chose the Italy v USA game.....has much happend ?

Bad result for Germany. They should have won, because they were superior throughout the second half and had 4 or 5 great chances, while Spain wasn´t threatening at all.
Spains keeper has been voted man of the match btw.

lol what game youve watched
2nd half we completly outplayed spain, they didnt have a single shoot on the target, germany had 3 100 % chances
özil is motm for me, when a spanish goalkeeper gets this, says it really all about the match

Can anybody give me some indicators which handful of youngsters(obviously aware of the English players) that perhaps i shoud keep an eye out for?
Some to watch out for IMO:
Italy: Balotelli & Giovinco are obvious stars, Abate & De Ceglie could be the surprises.
Serbia - Babovic is the one I am most interesting in seeing - heard some good stuff about this kid! Also Kacar.
From Spain, I want to watch Krkic - can he achieve his potential. Ozil and Marin from Germany. Walcott from England. Those would be my picks.
He said footballers not runners.

Re: UEFA EURO U21 Championships
Good game. We deserved to win, but were let down by our finishing in front of the goal.
Özil and Boateng were outstanding. Castro, Aogo, Dejagah and Beck (Löw hopefully noticed it as well) rather disappointing. Very good team effort nonetheless.
Ah, and what exactly were Özil and Marin doing here?

To answer your question:
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/16062009/58/european-championship-u21-euroscout-mesut-oezil.htmlThe best player on the park, Bremen playmaker forward Oezil tore his opponents to shreds with some magical dribbling and quick-witted runs but was unable to find a finish to match his excellent build-up play.

Re: UEFA EURO U21 Championships
Ozil is very talented, but he should improve his finishing. I don't think Germany will win with a lack of any good strikers and a midfield who although talented doesn't score many goals. I would have included Kroos in the squad even though he didn't play much the past season because he's a bigger goal threat than most these players.

Re: UEFA EURO U21 Championships
özil is the main men for the future so far
this year he made the biggest step from all german midfielder
atm he is starter for jogi in my opinion, has clear the edge ahead of trochowski
hopefully he will improve next year too, without diego it wont be that easy, all the pressure is on him

Born and raised in Germany, I think he has a case to play for the national side. Does every national team have to be fucking homogeneous?

Re: UEFA EURO U21 Championships
When Özil's grand parents immigrated to Germany even his parents were little kids, his dad was 2 years old back then afaik.
His family is well-integrated in Germany and quite liberal. Özil already gave back his Turkish passport a few years ago, and his father always encouraged him to play for Germany as a sign of integration.

Yeah, just seen the goals. Both were good finishes.
He had a prolific goalscoring record at Groningen, but I thought he would be off to Ajax instead of Fenerbahce this summer.

You're talking about Marcus Berg ?
Fenerbahce ?! I haven't read anything about even a remote interest from them...
Although anyone who bids 20M+ can immediately have him

Re: UEFA EURO U21 Championships
Should have stuck with the Berg as captain, anyway in the FF lead now me thinks. Hope my 3 Italy defenders for once don't fuck up (like last time v Serbia). After seeing Serbia's lineup, not too sure about my decision anymore.
