Their season has begun already Batman. Rafa likes us playing teams who are much, much fitter than us it seems.

whats your point, if arsenal would have finished 2nd last season then i would have created a thread about them being favourites for the league.

Danny Pacheco is better than Nemeth, eggnogg and even Voronin i guess.
Some of his moves were just amazing. I hope Rafa plays him a lot this season.

Re: Liverpool FC 09/10
I watched most of the first half, and the last 20 mins:
1. That Ayala guy who started at CB looked like he can go on to be a good player.
2. El Zhar was shit.
3. Voronin may just make it at Liverpool, if being a poor man's Dirk Kuyt can be called "making it".
4. The no. 11 playing in the Gerrard role in the 2nd half was very impressive - great touches on the ball, and always looking to go forward and create something or try to score. Later on in the game I found out that it was Pacheco, ex-Barça so it makes sense that he was awesome
5. Benayoun got injured, not sure how serious it was though he went down clutching his ankle.
6. I don't appreciate Benitez playing Mascherano...what if he suffers an injury and his move to Barça is scuppered?
7. The Rapid Vienna fans created a great atmosphere, it was like the CL final for them.

No I didn't hear them mention anything, but when I was checking the starting lineup/squad on the Liverpool official site, it says he had a small Achilles niggle from the last game.

Re: Liverpool FC 09/10
Xabi Alonso joins Liverpool in far east but still wants Real move
Xabi Alonso joined up with the Liverpool squad last night for their tour of the far east with his future at the club still uncertain. The midfielder has consistently been linked with a move to Real Madrid since the end of last season, but he met Rafael Benítez and the squad at Vienna airport after flying from Spain, where he got married last weekend.
Officials from the Spanish club were working last week to try to tie up a deal for the 27-year-old before he departed on Liverpool's trip to play Thailand in Bangkok on Wednesday and Singapore next Sunday. There were even suggestions that Alonso would be given leave so that a £30m move could be completed. But after Liverpool lost 1-0 yesterday in a friendly against Rapid Vienna, the squad went directly to the airport to be reunited with their Spanish stars, for the overnight flight to Thailand. Alonso, Fernando Torres, Jose Reina and Alvaro Arbeloa had all been given extra time off following their participation in the Confederations Cup.
In an interview with AS newspaper, Alonso said: "It is always a great feeling when Madrid want you, especially considering the phase of the career I am in now. But at this point, whether or not that can happen is not up to me. It's a matter that involves three parties, including myself. I do not like to force the issue. I prefer to talk. Madrid's project is certainly impressive. But beyond that, I cannot tell you anything else."
Alonso intends to hold discussions with Benítez. He said: "I will talk to him, sure, but the first thing to do when I arrive [in Austria] is to greet him. But I imagine that in the next few days, there will be time for all that, even though in reality, there is nothing in particular to talk to Rafa about. It's the clubs who have to negotiate to reach an agreement."
On the reported fee, Alonso said: "I am not the man who can answer these questions. The truth is that I cannot say much, because every little thing can be misinterpreted. And I do not know how things will turn out either because I am not a fortune teller."

Pay down some debt?
Invest in your 140th, 141st and 142nd teenager in the Benitez era?
Spend 17.5 million on a fullback?
