He's not worth ANYWHERE near £30m. Jesus wept!

He has got better goal scoring record in the league than Benzema, he has a very good scoring rate in Uefa cup, he is more than a static 9 and he is still 23.

You cant compare the league record of different leagues, specially when Benzema played for the biggest club in France and Gomez played for Stuttgart.

Can't argue with his rate of goals at Stuttgart. Still seems crazy money.

His international goal rate looked decent (10 in 25) till I saw the breakdown. He makes Jermaine Defoe look like he's scored in important games:

4 goals against Austria + Switzerland in friendlies; 2 goals vs San Marino in euro qualifying and 4 goals vs UAE in another friendly. Every single goal coming when they were already winning.

Good point, but they do play CL football, in which he has fairly limited experience (that I'm aware of). International football may not be the highest standard of football, but it is some of the highest pressure - and in that sense may be best measure for how he will do in big CL games.

He has good record in Uefa cup football, CL football is the next step up.

I think you are overreacting. Because he played one bad euros doesnt make him a bad player. There are not much strikers i would take over him.

No, the Benzema deal is 35m EUROS.

The Gomez deal was 30m POUNDS

So gomez cost MORE than Benzema. Which is quite laughable.

If Benzema costs 35 m Euro than it is same not more, Gomez is German, so a German club has to pay more, just like an English club pays more for an English player.

Though rechecking it, Reuters say it was 30 m Euro so 26.5 pound.

Currency converter says that 35m euros = £29,932,639 pounds and 16 pence.

Its 30 m Euros checking different sources, so my mistake, I thought it was 35 m Euros.

Its still a lot of money when you consider that you could get Darren Bent for a pinch at £15m!

So you can either edit this list in Euros (Which it should be seeing it is in European section or edit the fees mentioned).
