Former Arsenal winger Alexander Hleb has expressed his disappointment and regret at ever leaving the North London club.

The Belarus international moved to FC Barcelona in order to win more trophies, but failed to establish a regular place in the side.

Hleb said: "When you mostly sit on the bench, winning titles brings very little joy, while getting to the last eight of the Champions League with Arsenal was unforgettable.

"I regret my move from London, but unfortunately nothing can be done about it now.

"For me, Wenger was like a father. I consider him one of the best managers in the world.

"For such a boss one wants to die on the pitch. Arsène managed to create a smashing team with a wonderful atmosphere inside of it.

"I have no doubts that if Arsenal had the same budget as Barcelona, the Gunners would be among the three best clubs on the planet."

    I miss you Hug

Can we have him back? He'd definitely solve our DM problems cheers

Scout report and a collection of goals from Gignac. A very good finisher by the look of it. Scores from outside the box too.

French publications L'Equipe and France Football are reporting that Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has been taken to hospital in Austria following an injury sustained while training on the Gunners' pre-season tour of the country.

The 22-year-old was transported by two members of staff, reportedly crying in pain, to the regional hospital in Hartberg. Early reports from the AFP news network claim the player has fractured his fibula and that he will be out of action for at least eight weeks.

Arsenal face Austrian side SC Columbia Floridsdorf this evening in their second warm-up game of the week.

Believe me COTR he is definitely one of our key players. Vital to the way we play and move the ball about. When we didn't have Cesc for much of last season and before Arshavin joined he had provided much of the creativity if not all for the forwards.

It's just the fact that as things tend to look up for Arsenal one of our best players gets injured.

We suffered more than double the injuries u did last season.

I expect Nasri to be a contender for our player of the season this season. Arsene should just keep his off the left wing and play him more centrally or on the right.

You can have more than one key player COTR

Sure he can be replaced but will we get the same input? Our style of play relies on ball retention from our attacking mids like Rosicky, Arshavin and Nasri.

We don't know what level Rosicky is at this current moment in time whilst we do not want to be over reliant on Arshavin.

Hopefully Rosicky instead of Theo but both of these players will no doubt pick up some form of innocuous injury during the season.

I was thinking of us getting a creative wide player to replace Ade(with Theo and Arshavin pushed upfront), now we definitely need to get one or two in.

    Afellay is a good choice.

What do you mean if we are playing with a flat midfield fout it would be Nasri, Cesc, Arshavin and one of Song or Denilson.

In a 4-2-3-1 formation he may play centrally or on the wing but he is definitely a starter and that includes ahead of Theo.
