It seems a definate hint that we will be letting Cesc move on next summer.
Wilshere is undoutedly a great talent but I'm concerned that he's nowhere near Cesc's level.
Thoughts?

Think you're being far too harsh on Nasri. For a start, this was his first season with us. Hleb was pretty shite in his first season, as was Pires, so to criticise him because 'he isn't as good as hleb' seems overly harsh. I expect him to have a much better season this year. He needs to impose himself on the game far more than he did last season.
Playing Walcott in a 4-4-2 IS nuts. He should only be used in a 4-3-3 as a wid forward or as a striker in a 4-4-2. You're right though, playing both Nasri and Walcott is too much of a luxury and doesn't help the two central midfielders one bit.

Positionally he'll cover for left wing/ left support forward or the Eduardo role in a 4-4-2.
Expect him to get a significantly higher number of games this season. Thought he actually did quite well when played last season but his opportunities were limited.

Blah blah, economic restraints, blah blah, other clubs have more money...
For an economist, Wenger's ability to deceive about the budget he has is extraordinary. Of course, that's what studying economics enables you to do.
I couldn't give a fuck about the rest.

But he's made it pretty clear that he has consciously chosen the path of not, as a rule, buying 23+-year-old-players "ready-made" for reasons of his own convictions. If people want to claim that's in order to have "a ready-made excuse for failure" or, more plausibly, a kind of experimental ego trip, then nothing can stop them from thinking that, but there's the path he's chosen in black and white.

That'll come with time. I think he most needs time against experienced fullbacks. He can slaughter mediocre ones, we know that much, but needs to play games which really test him, see what he's made of. He could be a real gem, or just a useful winger.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is not prepared to send Fran Merida out on loan this season.
The 19-year-old Spaniard enjoyed a short spell back in his homeland in the 2007/08 campaign after being allowed to join Racing Santander.
There had been talk of a similar deal being struck this summer, with the teenage midfielder keen to experience regular first-team football.
Spanish second division outfit Levante were reported to be looking to strike a deal, with Merida believed to be interested in making such a move.
However, Wenger insists the youngster will be going nowhere as he remains part of his plans for the 2009/10 campaign.
Needed
"Wenger has spoken with Fran and was very clear with him," said Merida's agent Joseba Diaz.
"The season will be very long and he could be needed at Arsenal, so there is no chance of a move."
Despite initially expressing an interest in a loan switch, Merida claims he is happy to stay at Emirates Stadium after being given assurances by his manager that he will be given every opportunity to prove himself.
"The fact that the coach wants me to stay has given me a lot of confidence and that is very important for me," he told Radio Nou.
"From this moment I will be giving my all to earn an opportunity in the first-team."

In our 4-3-3 Nasri will play in the midfield.
Wilshere is a humble guy and will know that he has to bide his time. He is only 17. I hope we use him sparingly and would be totally against him going to the World Cup. The rate at which he is devloping though it wouldn't suprise me. English media
Vela will get a lot more games but will still be back up to the front free.
Walcott is picking up injuries all the time and is behind the front free in the pecking order as well.
