It's interesting you mention his partner. I always thought Trezeguet was an ideal partner for him (at least on paper). Henry could drift out left while Trezeguet would always be in the box. Plus they get on well off the field which helps a bit. Even before WC 02 they were doing well together, and in the game against Senegal they linked up well but were unlucky to both hit the woodwork. For some reason though, the partnership never materialised.

He was certainly invisible against England, plus was guilty of wasting some of France's best chances against Greece. I remember he scored a brace against someone (think it was Switzerland) but that was about it.
2000 was his best tournament

I don't see what he does that makes him so great. Whenever I have seen Barcelona and Spain it is Iniesta who makes things happen.

Who goes on about Nani ?
Glenn doesnt count.
Its probably differs per person, something I notice, many people dont, what others notice I dont. I tend to pay attention to some details, I am sure most have their own areas which they concentrate on.

That's a good one. No one seems to mention the mistakes he made in the tail end of the season or at the Euros.
He's sort of the opposite of what happened to James, who's cannot get rid of his reputation as an error prone goalie.

In regards to Gomez, let me just add that many Germans, me included, don't believe him to be the best thing since sliced bread, quite on the contrary actually (especially since international performances are usually more important for the average German fan than club performances). It's just that I know that he is a good player and not total shit like many on here believe he is.
The opposite to Gomez would be Schweinsteiger. His reputation abroad seems to be much better than his reputation at home.

Basically all players that get the "Fey seal of approval". You can just literally smell the hype!
Miralem Sulejmani is another good example. Was he shit at the U21 Euros or what?
