Etherington gets booked for diving. Must be some sort of mistake, us English never dive! Plenty of goalmouth action as well with West Ham hitting the frame of the goal.

Think Blackburn will be satisfied with the result, although obviously disappointed at conceding a last minute equaliser. They should be able to win the tie back at Ewood Park, but I don't know much about Salzburg so they might get a result.

Hmm, that makes 1.143 points for us, 1.714 should have been possible...so we fulfilled our potential today to about 67%. Hardly impressive, but it could have been worse...blutgraetsche wrote:It was an ok day for the Bundesliga I guess. Schalke and Frankfurt winning, Hertha and Leverkusen with a draw. While Leverkusen shouldn't have that much of a problem to beat Sion at home, it looks much worse for Hertha, who probably will have to beat Odense abroad.

What a fantastic result for Palermo!!
Great week for Italian clubs on the whole...esp Palermo, Milan and Roma.
Livorno beat Pasching 2-0 and (a very young and experimental) Parma beat Rubin Kazan 1-0 away.

Re: 14.09.06 UEFA CUP
The only real disappointment for me today was Hertha. They will have to win in Odense now, not an easy task at all with that crappy defence.
Leverkusen is kinda disappointing as well, still I'm confident that they will win at home and advance to the next round.
Schalke could have done better, but Nancy are no mugs. I think that they do have a good chance to advance as well.
Frankfurt did really well today, winning 4:0. They should not have any problem in Bröndby now.
Interesting to see that the 'smallest' club of all actually had the most convincing game. This is an indication for another major problem as far as the Bundesliga and the UEFA cup are concerned: Teams not taking the competition seriously enough. Hertha, Schalke and Leverkusen absolutely have no reason to though, they'd be slaughtered in the CL, so better get your act together and try to win something FFS!

Course there was the welcome change (for me at least) of Portuguese teams actually beating their Italian counterparts this week as well.
Sporting put down Inter and Sp. Braga done Chievo in 2-nil.
Great result for both Luso clubs.

Aye, their scouting is just unbelieveble. I wish that we had such great scouts.
And for Alves, we are gonna see alot from him this year. FT 0-3 great result for Heerenveen.

Good overall results for Eredivisie. I'm just glad not everyone was knocked out on the first day.
Groningen. Even though it wasn't all their fault.

Come on you Spurs!
Great result for Martin Jol's White Army: completely dominated Slavia for virtually the whole game, without Lennon and Robbie Keane (came on in the last 10 minutes).
Finally possible that Spurs might actually do something meaningful in a Cup Comp? Wishful thinking maybe...
Unlucky Hammers, still possible to get a result at Palermo I feel, just not playing Zamora on his own upfront.

All Romanian teams won again! they'll get again many points and they are the biggest threat now for Germany and Portugal.
If they continue like this they will finish 5th in the UEFA Coefficient this year! Last night they got again 4/3 points while they already have 5 points! The Dutch league teams are already unable to catch Romania and the Dutch have to focus on Russia to save the same amount clubs in Europe!
Next year we will get three Romanian teams in the Champions League??????
