I would seriously consider giving Ruud a bigger part in our team. He gets the whole poacher reputation but he also knows how to stretch a defense and he times his runs very well. Against teams that park the bus a player like him can actually help open them up.

Van Nistelrooy can also play very well with his back to the goal, which the rest of our strikers suffer to some extent. Hopefully Pellegrini will give Ruud his chance.

4 of his goals have been against Xerez and Zurich, let's not forget that.

Still, a very good start for Ronaldo. Villareal away midweek will be his first real test though, even if Villareal has had a mediocre start to the season.

Well, I don't think this is too different from what his role actually is. It is hard to say since he is just coming back from injury. But I think all along most have said he can be very useful in specific circumstances such as those that you mention. But I think we are all in agreement that Raul + Ruud can't be the regular, first choice striking partnership.

Good to see Ruud get off the mark. Hopefully he doesn't get another major injury. I have my doubts but we'll see.

Good to see Benzema score his first as well. Was starting to think he'd never score after he completely whiffed on the shot right before Guti's goal.

So..so far Benzey is shit but has scored 1 goal. At least Hunter got goals

Nice to see Ronaldo getting a brace, against small oppoisiton but it will do his confidence wonders.

Gago was unimpressive tonight, won the ball back on numerous occassions then gave it straight back.

Because that Ronaldo could become a real good player if he only had a bit more confidence in his abilities
