Take it from a Real Madrid fan, Ramos doesn't deserve to be in this list. He has been poor last season and this one aswell. In the previous 3 seasons he was playing at a very high level but he has simply been too poor. Also wouldn't you say that Ferdinand is still pretty good despite the fact he has started poor this season?

How good has Woodgate been for Tottenham? I agree with many that on potential he is the best english defender. A shame he never had the luck with injuries. Also seems like a nice guy allthough seems a bit dry.

I respect people's choices. But anyone picking Cavalho clearly doesn't watch him play often. Lucio over Vidic is just insane ditto Cheillini over Vidic. And Rooney is severly underated. But of course not everybody will agree.

Name a better player that can play at CB and RB, i'm covering all bases here. I'm doing it properly, unlike bluenine.

Ferdinand is doing poorly of late, he's having a run of form that Woodgate would never have, the truth is i would probably add him and take away Yaya, but B9s crazy rules get in the way. CB was a struggle so i went for 2 of the most talent defenders in my lifetime in Nesta and Woody, both are past their primes but i gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Lrd, everyone has different preferences. Just like you have Ooijer in your list.... I like Carvalho-style defenders, you can see that from my list of CBs. IMO he is the most naturally gifted CB after Nesta. And believe me, I ve seen him play quite a lot lot. Maybe you could watch him play a bit more.

Bluenine Carvalho has been poor for awhile. Ooijer is a joke due to an argument i had with Ricardo. And that's a bizarre comment, even Chelsea fans havent put Carvalho in the list. It's not about style he's just under par and most think he'll be dropped when Alex returns. I left Rio out because he's not been at his best for this season or the end of last. Carvalho hasnt for a lot longer than that. That's just my view but i think if he was playing like he is in the prem in Seria A, he may well not make a few peoples lists.

Sure, I have him in on basis of talent, not form. Just like I have Kaka & Cassillas in there too. Coz some players are just class, and the squad will be better with them in it than not.

Its the same reason why I think Lippi would be right to pick Pirlo or even Totti for his WC squad next season. They may not make it on form, but Italy will be stronger with them in the squad.

As for Chelsea fans, most rated Terry over Carvalho even when he was at his best... I guess to each his own.

I guess Kaka could be there instead of Mascherano or Fabregas, but I didn't think of him too much because as you said, he's not been the same for around 2 years now.

Ibrahimovic will make it easily if he proves something in the big games with Barça this season. That remains my only doubt on him...it's pending from his time at Inter, and so far the fixtures haven't given him a proper chance to prove his choker tag as false. We can only properly evaluate him in May 2010.

Kaka may have not been the same last season @ Milan by his standards, but he was still pretty darn good compared to some others!

Point of comparison...since start of 07/08 season, Owen Hargreaves has played more games than Daniel Agger. Think maybe we should wait till he starts playing regularly before going overboard, no?

when I first watched Samassi Abou I thought he was the greatest player since sliced bread. To this day I remember him being awesome when in reality he can't have been that great as he slid down the divisions pretty quickly.

Vidic and Ferdinand have been horrible this season, while last year they were amazing so people who have seen less of them might still put them in the team.

Well, I think Villa is the best striker in world football, so yes I can justify picking him over Ibra or Rooney.

Villa scores goals for fun at all levels. His record for both club in country has been absolutely ridiculous for the past 2-3 years. And he's not only about goals too, he's much more than just a poacher.
