    0-0 FT

Campbell nearly scored at the end. Villa were the better team and created more half-chances. Downing should have scored with one of his chances. Arsenal went very close on a couple of occasions, but didn't create enough. A decent point to start our tough run, we just need to go and beat Man Utd on Sunday now!

Could have done with winning this one, as the United game is now must win otherwise Chelsea are going to be out of reach very soon.

Well that was a shit game. We got dicked on, but didn't concede too many chances. Defended well too. Decent point. Onwards and upwards to United Ale

Bit frustrating. We had enough of the ball to win & a couple of good chances (esp Downing. Damn you Middlesbrough). Least we didn't lose. Another top 4 game out the way.

Goal drought is a bit worrying (league cup aside!)

True, what can we do though? Injuries seem to hit us at the wrong moment. Also doesn't help the fixture list being fixed ok

I didn't watch the Villa - Arsenal game but I read that it finished 0-0. Browsing through the match reports I noticed that Alberto Aquilani wasn't used by either manager, he wasn't even on the bench. No mention of it on here, not a peep. It's one rule for Rafa and another for MONg and Wanger.

We're 4pts behind you with a game in hand, hardly an impossible gulf. We've got 3 more tough games now (Fulham away, then yourselves and Man Utd). If we come out of those still in touch, we're going to have quite a nice run-in having played 4 of the top 6 twice.

Remains to be seen how we respond to a cup final (win it and players might start thinking season over, as Spurs did a couple years ago; lose it = demoralising). Plus got a chance of getting decent way in FA Cup, which might be another distraction. Still, way too early to say 4th is gone. Drawing with Arsenal hardly a bad result.

So is that a yes or a no? Cool

It was an ironing statement anyway, meant to parody the knee jerker fans and media. Only last week we were supposedly out of it after losing to Liverpool.

All we can say for certain based on tonight's results is that Villa are out of the race for 4th, Arsenal are out of the title race, Wigan are relegated, Chelsea have won the title and Man City will NEVER win a cup again.

Anything more would be pure kneejerkery.

I don't think that's even necessary. The post itself displays obvious sarcasm. Particularly with the ManCity bit.
