*Ezequiel Garay could be off to France for a year-long loan spell at Olympique Lyonnais. Real Madrid look to be signing a defender that will drop Garay to fourth choice (either Carvalho or Maicon which would push Sergio Ramos to the middle) centre back. Milan were linked with him earlier in the summer as well.

*Luca Cigarini looks to be closing in on a move to Sevilla. Napoli's sporting director has admitted negotiations are ongoing and Sevilla are apparently offering 6,5m whilst Napoli are asking for 8m.

*Milan offering 10m euro for Rafael van der Vaart. VDV is surely leaving the Bernabeu this summer with the arrival of Sergio Canales. Milan also, supposedly, interested in Mahamadou Diarra.

*I think kas mentioned it in the Barcelona thread but the rumour now is that Marcos Senna is going to join Barcelona. They can get him for a lot cheaper than Bruno (Villarreal only letting him go for his buyout clause) since he is older. Rosell will be delighted to present yet another brasilian signing.

*Espanyol were being linked spectacularly with Maxi Rodriguez. Maxi already had one spell at the Montjuic from 2002-2005 before joining Atletico but Espanyol's president claims they can't afford his wages.

*Maicon to Real Madrid is supposedly a done deal for 28m euro with Maicon set to get 7m euro per season. We'll see if it is true.

*Malaga being linked with Dani Pacheco in the last few days. Their new sheikh wants him to be the 'star' signing of the summer and it would make sense with it being Pacheco's hometown team. Now Real Sociedad, who are looking for a striker to partner Joseba Llorente, also being linked with the Liverpool forward.

*Raul Tamudo could be headed to newly promoted Levante after leaving Espanyol on a free transfer this summer. Other reported destinations are MLS and...well, that is it.

*Getafe are close to signing Jose Maria Callejon from Espanyol. Espanyol were initially unwilling to negotiate the buyout clause of 5m euro but now it looks like the deal will be finalised at a fee of 3,5m-4m.

*Getafe also closing in on Adrian Colunga from Recreativo for 2m euro + Kepa Blanco.

El Mallorca ficha a Jonathan De Guzmán



El centrocampista canadiense y nacionalizado holandés Jonathan De Guzmán se ha convertido hoy en el primer refuerzo del Mallorca que dirige el danés Michael Laudrup, al firmar un contrato que le vinculará a la entidad balear durante los próximos tres años.

De Guzmán, 22 años, ha llegado con la carta de libertad procedente de Feyenoord. A pesar de su juventud, el volante derecho ha participado en la Copa de la UEFA y su debut en dicha competición data del 14 de septiembre de 2008 contra el Besiktas, según ha informado hoy el Mallorca. El vicepresidente primero del Mallorca, Lorenzo Serra Ferrer, ha asegurado al presentar al nuevo integrante de la plantilla, que es un "placer contar con Jonathan, por su calidad como persona y deportista".

"(De Guzmán) tiene una personalidad muy definida. A los doce años salió de Toronto para irse al Feyenoord. Después seis años de formación se incorporó a la disciplina profesional de ese mismo equipo. Disputó los Juegos Olímpicos con la Selección holandesa sub'21", ha explicado Serra Ferrer.

De Guzmán, por su parte, ha declarado sentirse "muy feliz y orgulloso de estar en el Mallorca". "Lo más importante es el club y la fe que en mi han depositado. He hablado mucho con Serra Ferrer y Laudrup. La fe que tienen es lo más importante, no disputar la Europa League", decía expresándose a través de Jan Devise, su representante.

This is great news for Sevilla and the league. Would be a good deal as well by Sevilla because he is a good talent. He is exactly the type they have needed for a while now.

Also good for Garay to go to Lyon where im guesing he would a lot more playing time then he looks like he will get next season. Hopefully we will offload VDV and Diarra. I think VDV in particular could do quite well and Diarra is half bad for this watered down version of Milan that Berlusconi is "building".

I love watching Cigarini play. His ability, atleast for me, is unquestionable; perhaps mentally he is a bit lacking. With his talent, he's definitely capable of bossing the midfield if he mans up.

If Getafe get Corlunga that'd be an excellent purchase. They've lost Leon, but have made some decent purchases. Garay to Lyon would be a good move providing there's not an option to buy which I wouldn't be surprised if Lyon ask for that.

De Guzman is a talented player from what little I've seen, surprised Mallorca pulled that off tbh.

Mattioni, nuevo jugador del Espanyol para las próximas cinco temporadas

El Espanyol ha anunciado hoy la contratación para las cinco próximas temporadas del jugador brasileño Felipe Mattioni, procedente del Mallorca, que mañana será presentado en el estadio de Cornellà-El Prat.

Tras una rápida negociación, el club catalán ha confirmado el fichaje del jugador, que se convertirá en el segundo fichaje del equipo de Mauricio Pochettino.

Mattioni se someterá mañana a la correspondiente revisión médica y posteriormente será presentado a las 13:00 horas en el estadio de Cornellà-El Prat.

Procedente del Mallorca, Mattioni (Ijuí, Brasil, 15-10-1988) comenzó su carrera deportiva en el Gremio de Porto Alegre, club que le cedió al Milan en el mercado de invierno de la temporada 2008-09 con una opción de compra de seis millones de euros.

Como futbolista del Mallorca disputó 20 partidos y marcó un gol a lo largo de la pasada temporada.

El brasileño ocupará la banda derecha y puede actuar tanto de lateral como de extremo, aunque la idea del cuerpo técnico es utilizarlo como jugador de ataque.

Good signing for them, Godin/Senna replacement. But I can't believe Valencia let him go

Do Valencia still need to sell even after getting all that money for Villa and Silva?

I don't think they *have* to sell in the sense that they have to seek out buyers for their players, but if good offers come in and the player is willing or wants to leave, I guess they're not in a position to say no.

Not actually a bad move by Valencia. He's nearly 31 and on high wages, which they can't really justifying paying atm.

Worry is, will they replace them? If they keep Fernandes (which they should) they're fine in the DM position (where I feel Marchena was more suited to) with Topal, Banega and Fernandes, even Maduro.

CB though....they have numbers but not the quality. Costa is a pointless signing because he's awful. And they also have Dealbert, Narvarro + Alexis. Alexis has potential, but hasn't pushed on like some expected, the other two I'm not sure have the quality, though Dealbert looked good initially.

Navarro is not good imo. I don't know why Emery rates that guy.

Alexis has the potential to be very good but injuries have really impeded his development since he left Malaga.

Dealbert is probably not good enough for the highest level but a good enough squad player to fill in here and there.

Oddly enough Llorente was saying something about maybe dropping Albelda into the centre of defence.

Today's transfer news & gossip:

*Villarreal are about to sign ex-Barcelona canterano Iaqo Falque on a one year loan with an option to buy. Falque left for Juve last year or the year before (can't remember). Initially he is going to start in Villarreal B.

*Fredi Bobic has admitted that Sami Khedira told Stuttgart that he wants to go to Madrid and that now they must "find a solution". Madrid were rumoured to be offering €10m but Stuttgart want somewhere in the range of €12-15m.

*Supposedly Sevilla have given up on Cigarini and are now trying to sign Steven Defour from Standard Liege. A lot of conflicting 'reports' on Cigarini. Estadio Deporte still seem to think he's the most likely candidate but Marca have now come out with the Defour story. Marca are linking a return to Belgium for Tom De Mul as part of the Defour transfer.

*Godin seems to be closer to Atletico. Marca saying that he was offered to Madrid (Mourinho didnt want him - fucko!) but now is going to be off to the Vicente Calderon for the 50% transfer that was mentioned the other day (50% now and 50% next summer). Only obstacle is that Atletico have to 5 non-EU players on their books which need to be sorted before they can play Godin. Villarreal are set with Marchena and will be presented officially after Godin leaves.

*Hércules are negotiating with ex-Getafe left back David Cortes. Cortes is available on a free transfer after his contract expired in June.

*Apparently Fulham are after Espanyol central defender Nicolas Pareja. Sevilla, Valencia, and Atletico had all been linked with the Argentine but those none of those seem realistic possibilities anymore.

*Sergio Garcia looks like he is probably going to be back in primera next year. Atletico have been monitoring him as well as his ex-club Zaragoza and newly promoted Hercules. But if Espanyol end up selling Callejon to Espanyol then his destination could be Cornella el Prat

*Apparently L'equipe has come out and said that Rod Fanni to Atleti is a done deal. No confirmation yet but maybe the saga is finally coming to an end.

*Well, a few new names being linked with Sevilla as they try to sort out the CM position. First Luca Cigarini, then Steven Defour, now Ander Herrera. I can't imagine they will get him for less than what West Brom were asking for Borja Valero though so good luck to them. Then AS are reporting that they are also looking at Parejo and Granero.

*And Tom De Mul has gone to Standard on loan for the next year with an option to buy so whether it has anything to do with Defour or not I guess we'll see.

*Espanyol have sold Nico Pareja to Spartak Moscow for 10m euro. I think they paid 5m for Pareja a couple of years when he came from Anderlecht so a pretty decent business move. I guess that means Ruiz-Forlin will be the CB pair. Hate to see a good player like Pareja leave the league though.

*Uruguayan striker Christian Stuani is close to moving on loan to Levante for the next year coming from Reggina. Never heard of him.

*Real Madrid looking at Murcia's Sergio Escudero for the left back position. He'd been linked with Deportivo as a replacement for Filipe Luis. Lendoiro came out saying that Depor weren't going to get him because there were bigger clubs interested. First it came out that maybe he was going to Germany (Schalke being named) but now the rumour is Real Madrid are going to sign him for 2,5m euro. He's been with the Spain U21s in the past but I don't know too much about him.

Also Godin ---> Atletico and Marchena ---> Villarreal is all but confirmed.

Shame to see Pareja leave the league. Sevilla or Valencia could have used him. Good defender, but Russia...

El Real Madrid, interesado en Fernando Llorente

Desde su llegada al banquillo blanco, una de las prioridades de José Mourinho siempre ha sido un delantero. A pesar de contar en la plantilla con jugadores como Gonzalo Higuaín o el propio Cristiano, Mou pidió a la Dirección Deportiva un perfil distinto de atacante. El portugués quiere un punta de potencia con buena planta física y que vaya bien para desatascar los partidos que se le atraganten al equipo merengue. Se ha especulado con varios nombres como el de Mario Gómez o como el italo brasileño de la Juventus, Amauri. Sin embargo, Mourinho ya ha dicho que se tantee a Fernando Llorente.

El riojano reúne las condiciones que Mourinho precisa para su delantera, sobre todo tras la marcha de Raúl González al Schalke 04. El jugador del Athletic de Bilbao va bien de cabeza, juega de cine con los pies, goza de una gran movilidad arriba y arrastra la marca de los centrales como nadie. Además, algo que ha contado mucho a su favor es el hecho de gozar con suficiente experiencia internacional en partidos clave, tal y como se pudo comprobar en la Copa del Mundo de Sudáfrica.

Mourinho tiene en mente que Fernando Llorente se convierta en ese jugador clave para completar la plantilla. Con la llegada de Khedira y a la espera de lo que pase con los laterales, parece que el riojano puede ser la gran sorpresa del verano. Habrá que ver cuál es la predisposición del jugador y de su equipo, el Athletic Club, que, al fin y al cabo, es el que tiene la última palabra. La cláusula de rescisión ronda los 36 millones de euros y ya han preguntado por él varios equipos. Irá para largo...

Tamudo, nuevo jugador de la Real Sociedad

Según anunció Radio Marca en la tarde de este sábado, el futbolista se encuentra en San Sebastián, donde ya ha pasado reconocimiento médico e incluso ha tenido la oportunidad de bcomer con el entrenador del conjunto donostiarra recién ascendido a Primera División, Martín Lasarte.

Se espera que en las próximas horas la Real haga oficial el fichaje y confirme la hora de la presentación del delantero con su nuevo equipo. El compromiso será por una temporada, con opción a otra más.

Raúl Tamudo vivirá su segunda experiencia en un equipo vasco, ya que años atrás jugó cedido en el Deportivo Alavés. Después de su larga carrera en el RCD Espanyol, el de Santa Coloma de Gramenet tendrá la oportunidad de continuar jugando en la máxima categoría del fútbol español.

Marchena ya es oficialmente jugador del Villarreal

Carlos Marchena, defensa del Valencia que ha sido traspasado al Villarreal, ha puesto fin a su relación con el club valenciano donde ha vivido una década gloriosa y en la que conquistado todos los títulos excepto la Liga de Campeones.

Marchena, que llegó al club en la temporada 2001-2002, ha disputado desde entonces 230 encuentros de Liga con la camiseta del Valencia y ha conseguido ocho goles, además de 53 partidos en competición europea, 24 de ellos en Liga de Campeones, en la que anotó un tanto.

El defensa internacional formó parte de la zaga que conquistó aquel título de Liga y de la que más tarde se proclamaría campeona de Liga y Copa de la UEFA en 2003-2004, así como la Supercopa de Europa ese mismo año. Más tarde conquistó el título de Copa del Rey de 2008.

Sus inicios fueron complicados ya que aterrizó en un conjunto con una defensa consolidada y en la que era complicado hacerse un hueco, ya que en principio los argentinos Fabián Ayala y Mauricio Pellegrino le cerraban el paso, aunque con el tiempo se ganó un puesto en el once titular en detrimento del segundo de los argentinos.

La polivalencia del zaguero sevillano también le convirtió en un jugador imprescindible para la mayoría de sus técnicos, pero sobre todo la llegada de Quique Flores al equipo hizo que Marchena comenzara a ganar protagonismo como medio defensivo.

Un hecho que sin embargo le supuso un problema en la selección española donde los seleccionadores, como José Antonio Camacho o Luis Aragonés, confiaban en él como central y casi no contemplaban su participación en el centro del campo.

Pese a todo, en este tiempo Marchena se ha convertido en el valencianista que más veces ha vestido la camiseta de España, con 62 presencias desde que debutara ante Hungría (1-1) en un amistoso en 2002. Con España se ha proclamado campeón de Europa en 2008 y del mundo en 2010 y cuenta en la actualidad con el récord mundial de partidos invicto como internacional.

A falta de los últimos detalles del traspaso, Adrián Colunga jugará en el Getafe la próxima temporada tal y como anuncia la edición impresa del diario MARCA. El jugador asturiano abandonará el Recreativo previo pago de más de dos millones de euros por los azulones y la cesión de Kepa al Decano para la próxima temporada.

Después de que el ex jugador del Zaragoza y Las Palmas, entre otros, retirara la denuncia ante la AFE por los 45.000 euros que presuntamente le adeudaría el conjunto andaluza, las negociaciones entre Getafe y Recreativo se han retomado y en las próximas horas Colunga llegará al Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

De esta forma, el club que preside Ángel Torres se impuesto en la lucha con el Galatasaray, Benfica, Hércules o Betis entre otros, quienes también se interesaron por el jugador.

I think silva would make more sense as Ramos and Pepe would be a horrible partnership, as they are both endless chickens, but milan won't sell him.
