Messi's buyout is 200m or 250m, something like that.

But maybe we are not paying the buyout. Probably Rosell would settle for just enough to pay Man City for Robinho. Biggrin

Valencia are locked in negotiations with Galatasaray midfielder Mehmet Topal and are looking to conclude a deal in the next few days, according to reports.

The player’s agent, Batur Altiparmak, is currently at the Mestalla for talks about concluding a summer move to the Primera Division, reports Superdeporte.

Topal is a defensive midfielder who has been a permanent fixture in the first team of Cim Bom in the past few seasons, and his form sparked interest from English Premier League side Everton last season.

However, it appears that Valencia are closing in on securing the 24-year-old for their return to the Champions League next season. It is believed that only minor details need to be resolved between the two parties in order to reach an agreement.

Valencia are suffering from serious financial difficulties and may have to sell key assets David Villa and David Silva in order to balance the books. However, they still managed to secure third place in the table behind Real Madrid and Barcelona

A Spurs fan can correct me if I'm wrong, but Palacios isn't the magical "he can tackle like Maldini and run around like Essien and pass like Xavi" DM that Real Madrid seem to be looking for. In fact, he's probably not much of an upgrade on Lass "not good enough" Diarra Rolling Eyes

Palacios is Essien-lite essentially. And he's had a quite poor 2nd half of the season. It got so bad Modric took his place FFS!

If you asked Spurs fans what was the CM Combo we could put out they were most scared of (excluding Jenas Laughing) then Modric-Huddlestone would surely have been no.1. Yet that's what has got us through our biggest matches. it's a funny old game.

Not a fan of Palacios. I think the FA cup semi showed how limited he was. Got in some great positions then had no idea what to do he just seemed to be a waste of a player there was no point him getting the ball. He's got a big move to spurs and done well for Wigan so he must have some positives but a more athletic djemba djemba for me.

For me it proves yet again that football isn't becoming the pure athletics-like sport that some managers think it is. Players that know what to do with the ball (hence, football) are still important.

Yeah, West Brom are up. It's a shame that players like Valero, Michel, Garrido, Oubiña, etc end up going to low level teams England. But I guess if the money is there you can't blame them. Even players like Cuellar or Arteta who made a step up going to the EPL, they would do wonders for teams like Villarreal or Atletico or Sevilla.

But at least some of the younger ones like San Jose, Tejera, and Fran Merida look like they are returning.

Valencia are looking to sign soldado to replace Villa if he leaves this summer, I think he can do a job for them in the league, not so sure about the CL.

They are also interested in suarez, but he is out of the league.

Is their any truth to the rumor that the valencia local government will be basically swipe the debts clean at valencia?.

I saw an article yesterday saying there are four candidates to replace Villa if he does leave:

Roberto Soldado - Apparently Valencia were interested in bringing the local boy in for 10/11 anyway which is why Miku went to Getafe in January as a first step in the transfer.

Aritz Aduriz - Mallorca still haven't paid Athletic for him so he is probably going to have to be returned or sold (and then money given to Athletic).

Daniel Güiza - This would be an absolute miracle if they could get him. He was basically begging for a team from Spain to come get him last summer. I think he still has two years on his contract with Fenerbahce.

Paolo Guerrero - Not sure where this rumour is coming from. Very good player but not sure that he is enough of a pure goalscorer.
