PFA Awards 2009/2010

So the nominees are:

PFA Player of the Year -

1) Carlos Tevez
2) Wayne Rooney
3) Didier Drogba
4) Cesc Fabregas


PFA Young Player of the Year -

1) James Milner
2) Joe Hart
3) Wayne Rooney
4) Cesc Fabregas

Are these the correct nominees? Who should win? etc. etc.

How long do they have to play for before they stop being considered for the young player award??

I thought the whole point of that award was for future up and coming young players. So why are Rooney, Milner and Fabregas still in there? Pointless.

How old is Nani? I just assumed he was about 25.

Jinky Johnson - 2 months to make quite an impact

Aaron Ramsey - prior to breaking his leg he was certainly one of the most impressive young players in the Prem. Doesn't seem overly controversial to me.

Insua- what is he, 20? He's looked good to me, stand out in an admittedly underperforming Pool side, but come on, TWENTY?! One of Rafa's better signings

Fabregas, Milner and Rooney have all been regulars in this league for over 5 yrs. Crazy that they still get nominated as 'young players'. Though having said that, it's hard to think of many candidates..Hart, Bale, Rodwell, Chung-Yong Lee

If you start the season aged 23 then you are still considered 'young' enough. It is strange that Rooney won this award five years ago yet still remains eligible.

Well by the rules where is Lennon or even N Zogbia? They'd make more sense than Cesc and Rooney.

I think Drogba and Rooney have equally good cases. Both had incredible goalscoring seasons and been utterly crucial to their team.

Given the stupid system, you could split it and give Rooney young player and Drogba the other one.

Cesc doesn't deserve to be anywhere near those lists, he's been fucking awful this season.

I think both awards should go to Van Persie.


After all, if he'd stayed fit this year then he would have scored at least 25 goals and Arsenal would have won the league.

AND

If he'd stayed fit three years ago he would have been the best young player in the league.




More seriously, if Ramsey's been good enough for the YPOTY award then so are Rafael and Insua. But Bale is better than all of them put together.


Rooney should win the main award. Of those nominated Milner has impressed me the most of the young players, though I wouldn't object to Hart getting it.

Rooney should clearly get the main award.

Hart doesn't have a chance of the young one, it would never go to a keeper, Rooney will probably get the double award.

Why is Bellamy not included? I think he's been just as good as tevez for City.

Rooney and Milner probably, can't totally disagree with it either.

Listen dude. If Tevez and Bellamy have both been good and Tevez has scored 28 goals while Bellamy is not close it's not a surprise who gets chosen and Bellamy is a c**t who most people dislike as well. Giggs was better than all the rest. I was helping you understand not giving you an argument

Giggs made 12 Premier League starts last season. Johnson can't be far off that already.

That's not actually true. But if Johnson starts every game until the end of the season he'll still have started less for Man City than Giggs did last year
