    That makes more sense.
Still think Fletcher would be very close though, hardly deserving of ridicule.

    20 league goals for Lampard.

The goal with the outside of his boot yesterday was delightful.

He's not your type of player, fair enough, but he's ruthless in the Premiership. Statistically, he's also well into double figures with assists too.

So efficient, he should be German Ale

20 league goals for Lampard - 6 of them actually meant something (at least 1 of those 6 was a pen and Drogba and Ballack are better pen takers).

So now goals have to be deemed significant in determining the outcome of a result to receive credit? In that case you can halve both Drogba and Rooney's goal tally.

Real-Gago plays so he might have a chance
    Liverpool-they need him
United- now Carrick has finally been dropped they wouldn't need him

Assists he gets from corners. Lampard is one of the worst players in the premiership. He barely can complete a pass. He wouldn't get in 70% of premiership teams.

So you'd prefer a player who can do some clever tricks in the middle of the pitch, take it round 3 players only to be let down more often than not by the final ball to a player who will get 20 league goals and 10-15 assists? Well, I guess you are a big fan of Nani.

We must have scored about 2 goals from corners all season lerd (if that). We've been awful from set pieces this season. But I guess that you're right about getting lots of assists from corners can massively help your tally. Maybe that's why Giggs won the award last season.

    Quote of the season

Carlo Ancelotti hailed Frank Lampard after the midfielder grabbed a glorious double to fire Chelsea back to the top of the Premier League.

Florent Malouda gave the home side the perfect start in six minutes and Frank Lampard scored twice to end Birmingham's 16 game unbeaten run.

Blues boss Ancelotti was delighted with Lampard’s contribution. He said: “He’s using great movement. We use all the pitch to attack and so he is able to run into the box and can score.

“I think he’s the best running midfielder in the world. He has this fantastic quality .. to time his run into the box.”

His finishing is World Class. I don't see how that can be denied. His goal at the weekend is perfect example of the fact that he is incredibly good in this respect.

I'd agree with Pierre - he ain't a typical central midfielder, he needs to play behind the strikers. In that position, he is lethal. In central midfield - average

Roll your eyes all you want. One of my best mates is a season ticket holder at United, goes home and away- obsessed. He would say this a lot, particularly in his last season. I'll take his word for it alongside what I saw with my own eyes. Incredibly self obsessed, selfish player, and hugely overrated to boot Ale

Did your friend also cheer Alan Smith to the roof tops. Ronaldo was the best player in the world for two years he won it just once though thanks to Milan resting Kaka. But end of the day to compare him to Lampard is a bit ridiculous since Lampard isnt even the best player in his country or club and never has been or was or will be.
