Simply incredible.
There's only been one better, but I think he was older when he came to Holland.
(I'm talking about Romario of course)
Ronaldo better all round but in terms of the penalty box Romario is the king,Aguero reminds me of Romario apart from the finishing skills.
Axe is it too true Romario never trained and was always out nights before games but he will still score on and off the pitch?
That's the talk indeed.
"if Romario scored a girl in the night before the match, he'd score in the game too"Stan Valckx was Romario's partner in crime, they'd go clubbing and pubbing together : Romario looking to score girls, Valckx scoring at least 10 pints.
Hiddink was in charge of PSV in those days....and Romario's lack of training activity was becoming a serious threat to the discipline in the group. Hiddink thought long and hard about it and found the following solution :
He addressed the matter in public and let the team decide :
* either they would make Romario exempt => so special that he didn't need to do normal training. In exchange for that special status, Romario would be held accountable for his actions by the team and no longer by the manager.
* or they wouldn't accept a status aparte and Romario would be forced to train like the rest of them
Of course they opted for the first choice, which as a side effect knitted the players more into a team than they had been before.
Football was ace in those days
