Full list of players currently registered to the club, incl. some key youth players who have featured recently and/or are expected to step up this coming season (though like Busquets in 2008 and Pedro in 2009, Pep will probably promote someone that nobody expected).

    RB: Alves, Caceres, Bartra

    CB: Puyol, Milito, Henrique, Muniesa

CB: Pique, Chygrinskiy, Marquez, Botia, Fontas

The mere fact that he said 75m for Ibra, shows how full of shit he is.

The value of the transfer may or may not be 75m, but we only paid 40m in cash, so that's the only thing he should add to the debts.

Hopefully he is a better negotiator than Txiki and laporta, as that seems to be is only redeeming quality.

Zubizarreta will replace Txiki it seems

    ok
You are spot on, it was at least a deal worth 80M. Biggrin

I certainly hope he will get good deals on his Fabiano and Robinho transfers.

    Very Happy
What I don't get is what Rosells gets out of pointing all of this stuff out. I mean he is sure to win the election right? If so he will inherit this debt which means it would be hypocritical of him to make a big purchase when he gets in. I think he is setting himself up for criticism by Laporta or just about any opposition.

    The new Calderon Question cheers

He's already making a few potentially silly moves...apart from revealing (or exaggerating, depends what's the truth) the debt situation, there's also his comment saying "we will be in Wembley" Doh

And then the talk of him having spoken to the Boixos Nois. His justification is that he wants to bring back atmosphere and the youths in Camp Nou but no violence. Now that's a noble idea but a dangerous game to play. Maybe I'm just thinking too far ahead, but for example, if things start to go badly on the pitch, they will presumably back him out of loyalty/gratitude, while other socios will be against him, creating factions within the fans about the sporting direction of the club. And when one side is potentially violent, it could be a mess.

Post by Guest Mon May 31, 2010 7:06 pm

Javier Aguirre has derailed Mexico's chances for South Africa 2010 and for the next three World Cups.

I am sure many of you have heard the saying "don't look a gift horse in the mouth," and normally I would agree with this idiom. However, what do you do when the horse himself tells you that he is of the highest quality? Well I for one believe the horse and take him at his word.

That's exactly why I believed Aguirre when he took over the Mexican National Team. When he took over he promised to qualify for the World Cup, to take only the best players, and to develop the crop of young Mexican talent for the future. So far he has only come through on qualifying for South Africa, beyond that his word is worth about as much as a Mexican peso at a Laredo Starbucks.

On Monday, the FMF officially announced the removal of Jonathon Dos Santos from the South Africa roster. The younger brother of starlet Giovanni Dos Santos becomes the infamous number 24 of the roster. Ironically he wore number 24 against Gambia yesterday in Mexico's meaningless 5-1 victory.

In a previous article I wrote of the benefit of taking a young player, albiet without any major prospect of playing in the World Cup, to an event like this in order to forge him for the future. Jona is the understudy of Xavi at Barcelona, largerly considered the best midfield maestro in the world, and Aguirre is trying to tell us that Jona's apprenticeship isn't sufficient for a spot on the Mexican National Team? Por Favor Vasco!!!!

This isn't Brazil or Spain where youth talent can be wasted. We have so precious few prospects and each one should be given ultimate importance. I can easily name three players who will have little to no playing time but who don't have youth or potential on their side. However, the one that makes me the angriest and who should not have even been considered in the inital 28-man roster is Adolfo 'El Bofo' Bautista.

El Bofo, which loosley translated means clutz, showed up to the initial medical exams in the worst shape of any of the players. In a simple run with periodical speed increases he lasted a little under twelve minutes. The average player ran for approximately twenty three minutes. Blanco at 37, almost 38, out ran him!!! The Clutz continues his clumsy ways showing time and again his nom de guerra by stumbling over every ball, pass, and tackle during Mexico's friendlies. His inclusion over Jona baffles me.

Whew, sorry I needed to get that out.

The exclusion of Jona has angered the Dos Santos family and in particular the father Zizihno who swore his younger son would never again wear la verde. Zizihno blasted Aguirre for taking the easy decision and not looking towards the future. He also accussed the FMF of mistreating his son on previous occassions including the U-15 incident where Jona was removed from the plane taking the younger seleccion to the youth World Cup and stripping him of his uniform at the airport. Zizihno vows to look for other opportunities for Jona and I truly can't say that I blame him.

Furthermore, I cannot believe that Aguirre and his staff failed to consider the impact that this would have on Giovanni. Zizihno reported today that Gio asked his father, through tears, not to come visit him in Africa stating very clearly that his mood was depressive. If Zizihno is to be believed, and there is no reason why we shouldn't, then we have ruined our most important player 12 days before the World Cup.

I want to believe that Jona will come back in the future. I want to believe that Gio can overcome this hurdle and be a bright spot for Mexico. But I can't. As far as I am concerned Aguirre has destroyed Mexican Soccer for good.

What total bullshit, he simply wasn't good enough.

I hope Barca won't re-sign Jonathan, have enough of Dos Santos for now, hopefully there isn't a 3rd one in younger classes of La Masia.

Lol, this is becoming far too big a deal for the 23rd choice player in the World Cup, someone who would probably have the least minutes of any outfield player.

And I'm not even sure he would be in consideration if not at a big club. What has he achieved at club level anyway...nothing yet.

I look forward to everything you said. He probably won't be a new Calderon but he is a bit of an idiot. Now talking Boixos Nois is smart from his position because of the things you mentioned. Any mention of debt however is not because if it gets out of control he will be the one to blame without a doubt even if Laporta has as big a case in it.

Anyhow I welcome all of this. cheers

Just realised I forgot Gai Assulin in the list above...he'll be out anyway this summer, so no big deal.

    ------------------

Both SPORT and MD are saying today that the club will (or already has) talk to Valencia about Mata. I guess if Cesc doesn't happen, he'll be signed for the attack and Iniesta will purely be used in midfield. Calidad will be happy Smile

But I can't see Valencia agreeing to sell all their key players in one summer, it'd be suicide.

According to sport that following has come out of the meeting between pep and txiki yesterday.

    1) Ibra can leave, if a good offers is received
    2. if ibra leaves, then the club will much for Mata.
    3. The hunt for Cesc his still on, and thiago and JDS, will continue their integration into the team next season.
    4. One of Marquez or Shitgrynskiy will leave, as he wants to free up space for one of Fontas,Bartra or Muniesa.

Preseason will begin on July 19th

Chygrynskiy could be included in the Cesc deal as well.

Yaya is on his way out of the camp nou and his transfer will be finalized within the next few days, with man city leading the charge, but Man utd and Chelsea are also interested.

He should sell him to city and not strengthen our main rivals for the CL

He really would be a hugely important signing for Man U or Chelsea. But he is the sort of quality player that could really put City over the top and into the CL.

Poor WUM attempt, you can't mix and match opinions. You know my thoughts on Chygrinskiy *exactly* match the bit you copy pasted above...I definitely want him to stay ok

    -------------

Re. Toure, he'd be really good for Utd, but not so much for Chelsea and City, because both already have enough uncreative CMs and don't really need to add yet another one to their midfield. If Chelsea sign him it'll be a return to the last season under Mourinho where he played that awful midfield of 4 CMs.

So, Yaya is already out and according to his agent they agreed a deal with a Premiership club, just that he is not mentioning the club, but he says that the deal will be done before the WC.
I cant believe we are selling him, and we are still keeping some of the crap that we have in our disposal.
What a shame. And if we dont get at least 25 mill euros, than the embarrassment will be even more bigger.

I read that Toure's agent has come out and said that he has agreed a contact with Premier League club, although as we all know he likes to talk a little bit too much so whether that is true or not is another matter.

Calm down lrd, if what Toure's agent is saying is true, it's highly likely that he's going to City. Their representatives were in Barcelona last week to negotiate for Toure (and get offered Ibrahimovic Wink )

I think the player and club are agreed, just remains for City-Barça to agree a fee. Barça want 35m.

I cant believe we are selling him, and we are still keeping some of the crap that we have in our disposal.
What a shame. And if we dont get at least 25 mill euros, than the embarrassment will be even more bigger.
    Fucking Chyrvvfvdvvvdvfgpfgvg cost us 25.

I dont think it is a matter of the 25mill... It is that Toure wants a starting place without per default. That sort of thing disrupts the squad so he has to go. It is a shame, if he would just work harder in training and not whine then he would stay for sure.
As for Ibra, it is the same thing. If he cant accept not being first choice all the time then he also needs to go. Nobody is more important than the team.

Of all the rumoured signings that are going on then I am only really interested in Cesc (more out of curiosity than anything else and I still doubt it will happen), the right back backup and the Toure replacement.

As much as I would love a really good right back then it would be idiotic since Alves will play most of the games so a high profile would just create more noise in the dressingroom.

As for the Toure replacement then my first choice would be Mascherano but I am bit worried about his aggressive play and his lack of height. Ever would be a wonderful addition but I think there are some question marks over his character. He has exaclty been first choice in any of the clubs he has been at in Spain. But a great allround footballer.

I like Mata, but we dont need him (I mean we have Villa, Pedro, Jeffren and Bojan all able to play on the left); no way is Robben coming; and Torres just doesnt work very well with Villa.
