    lol!

Schäfer was utter garbage whenever he played for Germany and had a poor season with Wolfsburg too. No way should he be ahead of Badstuber, Boateng, Jansen or even Aogo in the pecking order.

    hase

one of our problems these days is that players get played out of position too much

an on-form "hanging-forward" is not necessarily a good "lone-stirker" though

neither is a decent centre-back like Badstuber better suited than an "average season full-back" like Schäfer in the left-back position

as for Schäfer having had an poor season at Wolfsburg

    maybe

but INCOMPETENT Veh was in charge, and later, Köstner was a quite controversial amongst players in the dressing room as well

    as you know

I am NOT a fan of Löw AT ALL

but one thing he is getting RIGHT

club/Bundesliga form is not necessarily relevant for how you can play for Germany

Löw was RIGHT to stick with Poldi and Klose

and with Poldi in particular you can see that a player, when he feels the manager trusts him, SUDDENLY and MYSTERIOUSLY shines

there is a reason why Magath is in love with Schäfer

if Löw could find that love in his heart, the left-back positional problem would be solved

    think about it

since I am and always have been a HUGE fan of Jansen, I might give him a shot though

    -------------

Beenhakker and Advocaat think Germany will walk it easy

Europe's finest. Stop dreaming Otto. Anyway that should be a cracking game. Still think Germany should win, but in this world cup anything can happen as we have seen with Serbia beating luckily Germany.

It's Brazilian journalist Carlos Eugênio Simon.

Here's what Wiki has on him:

During the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Simon officiated at three matches. In the second-round match between Germany and Sweden, he came under criticism from BBC pundits for sending off Sweden's Teddy Lučić for a second bookable offence. He also controversially grinned at Lučić after pulling out the red card.

In 2009 Simon was banned for six weeks amid accusations of incompetence and corruption. Simon was suspended by his national federation for 'a repetition of mistakes' and accusations that he disallowed a perfectly good goal for Palmeiras against Fluminense.

Otto, Schäfer was tested by Löw, and he was tested when he was on-form, but still failed miserably.

    Against a third-rate Azerbaijan

Note: 5

    http://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/article4312196/DFB-Elf-offenbart-Schwaechen-in-der-Defensive.html

    Against South Africa

Note: 4

    http://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/article4471223/Die-deutschen-Spieler-in-der-Einzelkritik.html

    Against China

Note 4

Another dodgy ref. I'm definitely not a fan of conspiracy theories, but it looks like FiFA are doing their best to keep the last African team in the competition, knowing that all the others will very likely be knocked out.

I hope that he will better than the Spanish one (Serbia match) at least.

Dont think the ref can save the last Africans from the our relentless attacks Biggrin

FIFA has just a strange system in using their refs, like the German one for the England game. How can they do that? When England is a possible opponent? There are so many other games he could do..

    by the way

Germany LEGEND Sammer, the current Sports Director of our Youth Programme

has not been sighted in South Africa so far Yikes

the reason: he fears that his presence will fuel rumours that he is just awaiting Löw's impending demise Yikes

bild reports that Löw/Bierhoff have not had contact with Sammer for about a YEAR Grr

    so

the UPSIDE of Ghana beating Germany would be that Löw is on the next plane back to the Vaterland

and Sammer, out NEXT national manager, can still watch the REAL highlights of the World Cup

Löw will probably select Cacau , he indicates

    http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/nationalelf/startseite/526728/artikel_Ich-tendiere-zu-Cacau.html

    kind of bizarre, really

IF Ghana park the bus initially or eventually, you need somebody good in the air

    a point-man

    which Cacau is NOT

    ie

Löw should go with Gomez or Kiessling

Kahn even thinks that Germany play with TWO strikers

Khedira is doing fine, besides after that cup final Torsten made it clear he shouldnt be near the squad anymore. Wiese is a queer, and Neuer is younger and more talented anyway, for the future its better to let Neuer start. Marin can start when he has to shave himself on daily basis.

Ozil can start though. But thats it! I've had it with the pro-Werder bias from the DFB!
