You stop with your silly Nibelungentreue and better start to face the facts.

our achillis heel is MERTESACKER, blut

you don't want to criticise the WErder star

    I understand that

    but

if MERTESACKER does not sort his act out, or gets benched, we will be OUT in the next round

    Shocked

Poldi is NOT the reason why we could/should have been kicked out yesterday

    Mertesacker is Neutral

Anne Friedrich as the backbone of the defense and most stable looking player there - I never thought I'd see the day. Laughing

As a side note, remind me to never watch football with the same people (especially girls) again as I did last night:
    "Which team is Germany?"
    "Is that Cacau?" "No, Khedira."

    Doh

I'm not suprised with all the Turks, Arabs, Slavs and Africans you've got in your team.

otto, what are you talking about? I suggest you read my analysis of the match on the last page where I clearly criticised Mertesacker!

But he wasn't / isn't the only problem we have. Your darling Poldi is another one, simple fact.

Poldi is no problem IF he gets proper support from the left-back and a central midfielder

    which he did not

the Pole is NO WINGER anyway

Löw is playing him out of position Grr

when I was playing in various youth sides, I started off as a centre-forward (Mittelstürmer) on the small pitch

and later moved to being a playmaker on the big pitch

at some point our manager wanted to try things out and switched me to the left-wing and also the right-wing

    I LOATHED the wing

it's the shittiest position to play Doh

you see LITTLE of the ball and even less where it matters

and you have to RUN far too much Yikes

    +

all the stupid defesive work, which comes naturally to RUNNERS

but not to people who love to create, score and be at the centre of the action

try to play Pizarro or Gomez on the wing

    or Drogba

and you'll see how they do

it's not Poldi's fault that Löw wants to play him there

since I am a HUGE Jansen fan, I would have NO problem playing him there and Poldi up front (or even on the bench)

but do NOT blame Poldi for the Ghana game Grr

    --------

    tell me blut

what should Löw now do with Merte ?

I also can't see what Mertesacker has to do with the Jansen/Poldi discussion? Surely we can discuss both. scratch
