I'm not saying this in hindsight - I said it at the time - I hate it when u see a player coming off on 89 mins and he's grinning, giving high 5's getting pats on the back etc.
Its a little disrespectful and christ can it bite u on the arse - I didn't even like it when Milan were doing it v Man U in 2007.
Forlan is reliable and a good striker of a ball, links play well, Suarez has potential and Cavani is half-decent with a physical presence but I knew Tabarez would rue leaving out Cheva.
You couldn't justify starting him ahead of Forlan, Cavani, Suarez but Abreu and Fernandez are not dynamic and when you need that something special, a hail-Mary then Cheva is the man.
There is too big a dip in quality between the 3 that usually start and the 2 on the bench.
That said, uruguay still had one diminutive, bald player who performed brilliantly in the world cup...
