Great result for Spurs! And they seem to be having the last laugh after all the ugly scenes in the match from Flamini and Gattusso.

Noah and the Bale wrote:Alberto wrote:It's so incomprehensible that Serie A clubs show sooooo much respect to clubs based in England. The Italians should copy La Liga teams when facing them clubs BASED IN ENGLAND FFS!
YOU KNOW the La Liga team will come on top during those encounters unless something freakish occurs like Colina gifting Chelsea the tie or Barcelona hitting the post 5 times at Anfield or Zambrotta gifting the tie to the Mancs or La Armada getting pummeled at La Manche by a sudden storm right before they were gonna whoop some ass.
Them Italians should learn from the Spanish.
Thank God 9 times Champs Milan showed us respect. Us: CL newcomers, injury ravaged side with Jonathan Woodgate even making an appearance, and worse of all, FROM ENGLAND (ie talentless).
Or maybe it's because Italian sides simply don't play regularly against fast paced, attacking teams with width?
Milan are clearly a better side than they showed tonight. But we deserved this victory. Better in every department.
We SHOULD go through, but we are still Spurs. Which means I'm not counting my chickens until we've drawn Chelsea in the next round (it's going to happen)
When was the last time one of "them La Liga teams", apart from Barcelona, beat an English club over 2 legs?
Valencia have lost 3 times at home in recent years (twice to us, and once to Man Utd).
Arsenal beat Villarreal and Real Madrid en route to the final in '06.
Liverpool won in the Nou Camp en route to the final.
From memory, I think only Barcelona have had success against English teams in the last 5 seasons. Puro's cracking up.

Zonal marking guy called this one:
In theory, Tottenham have the perfect footballing style to cause Milan problems.
Max Allegri’s side have been vulnerable to the same two things this season. First, pace on the counter-attack. Milan are an old side, and often can’t compete with raw speed from younger legs. Second, width.

FFS! WOW! Gomes is my MOTM BY FAR!!!
If he doesn't save those TWO 'GOALS', then this game could've easily been won 5-0 by Milan just hitting them Spurs with another THREE on the counter and the CLEAN SHEET for them to take to London.
Gomes has singlehandedly taken Tottenham to the quarterfinals.

I disagree. Roy would do it after a comprehensive draw away at Napoli.

Sounds like i missed some highjinks. I have to say as surprising as it is to see Tottenham winning at the san siro, that Milan team looks really average on paper. It's basically a bunch of guys that would be on the seniors tour if this was tennis, a couple of guys i don't know, Flamini(meh), Zlatan, and a premiership reject in Robinho.

lol! 5-0? What about the goal we scored? Did that not happen?
Gomes pulled off 2 super saves. But, as much as I love the guy, he didn't magically take Lennon 50 yards down the pitch, glide past a defender, cut it in and score for Crouch. It's okay, I see what's happened: as they're both English, your brain has automatically opted to remove that particular move from your memory. That's what happens when you become so ingrained with xenophobia

Milan
This Milan side is a disgrace to the great Milan sides of the past, not only for being quite average, but for being one of the most cuntish sides you'd ever see. I found myself wanting Spurs to absolutely rape them at one point in the 2nd half.
I had this down as one of the matches of the round, but it was quite disappointing to be honest. But that's what u get when two teams pack their midfield with runners instead of footballers - it takes a life time to get the ball forward.
I understand TS' criticism of crouch, but he's quite useful in games like this(with no football in midfield). He makes it easier for them to play. But when there's so much football in the team, then it's quite a waste to play him often. You have to give it to the big man though, he bangs them in in the CL and at international level.

Flamini: Another idiotic challenge, it's no wonder why several Milan fans dislike him, he has no discipline whatsoever.
Gattuso: I don't know what happened with Joe Jordan, but his reaction was a disgrace. Not to mention Joe Jordan is an ex Milan player.
It's annoying losing another home tie in the CL, as in the past teams would come to the San Siro and get a royal bitchslapping. Even if we went through, I mentioned time and time again that we have no chance to win the CL.
Clearly, we are a better team than last year but still in a rebuilding phase, there are evident holes that need plugging. Next year, if things go according to plan a new cycle will begin. Milan is too big a club not to rise, so let the haters enjoy their moment in the sun while it lasts.
Anyway, to the respectful, non-WUM Spurs fans like Noah and TS, well done for the victory.

Milan lost a lot of respect tonight. Both footballing and non-footballing. Just not good enough.
Impressive performances from VDV and Sandro. Spurs at full strength are better than Milan at full strength. Seriously, how many of Milan players would get into the Spurs starting XI based on recent (last two years) form not reputation? Ibrah, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Pato and? Abate? They really don't have a good team.
Serie A definitely deserves to loose its 4th CL place.

We will almost certainly see something similar tomorrow in the Arsenal-Barcelona match. If the Arsenal goalkeeper does not stand in the way of Barcelona's shots on target, Barcelona will probably score quite a few goals. And if the goalkeeper does stand in the way and block Barcelona's efforts, the game will probably be very close. Chins

The hard image of Italians in general doesnt make sense since most of them are 160cm or so.
Just saw that headbutt...the fuck! And Flamini should have seen 5 reds or so.
Whats wrong with Milan? Collecting a dirty dozen...van Bommel, Zlatan, Gattuso, Robinho...
VDV was impressive for Spurs. They dicked Milan before he was subbed!

Surely Gattuso's days are numbered at Milan anyway - he's getting on now. He looks a shadow of the midfield enforcer he used to be. Although, it was lucky for us Pirlo was injured as those 2 are both capable on their day of a familiarly telepathic Milan/Azzuri partnership.
Flamini - ex gooner. Was always going to be a c**t in this fixture. I notice Gallas and him don't look like the best of mates.
Sorry for you Milan didn't show up. It happens though. I think we wer up for this game enormously given how fresh and exciting CL football is to the club, and the confidence gained from the games against Inter.
Having played at the San Siro already this season was to our advantage.
Its not over. The tie, nor Milan as a European giant. You guys will be back. Whether we will be though is another question, so got to enjoy it whilst it lasts.

I don't think you should be so respectful suggesting you got it easy by Pirlo not playing. When has Pirlo played well against PL opposition? Not to mention you had Huddlestone out with Modric on the bench and of course Bale out. Milan got lucky Spurs had major injuries otherwise this could have been epic humiliation.Noah and the Bale wrote:Red n' Black wrote:Flamini: Another idiotic challenge, it's no wonder why several Milan fans dislike him, he has no discipline whatsoever.
