I would imagine spending 70 odd million on someone like Ibra doesn't help either

Don't know how old was he when everton signed him?, was he thought of as being one of the best you prospects in europe in his position on top of winning things?

28, but still a multiple league champion and a European winner, and so meets the criteria for a highly inflated price.

I'm trying to justify typing Chygrynskiy right now and not just copy-pasting it...

In other news, Chelsea are supposedly paying €28m for another 'promising English youngster' named Rodwell.

hindsight makes everyone looks like a genius, i'm not trying to justify is price after how shit he was, just saying when we bought him, he was one of the most highly rated young defenders in europe and had a winning pedigree, which is more that i can say for those english guys

Watching the U21's has confirmed to me that Jeffren simply isn't good enough for Barca. He hasn't got a football brain and isn't particularly productive. I'm not sure why he was picked ahead of Munain/Nsue. Mid-table player at best. A team like Zaragoza, Betis would be a good move for him, maybe even a similar side in the EPL where his pace may be more of an attribute. 3-5m hopefully.

On the other hand, tournament has once again shown that Thiago definitely deserves more minutes next season. He has a lot of ability even if he is a little wreckless with it at times (not neccessarily a bad thing) I think alongside Xavi or Iniesta he'd be fine against pretty much most sides. Remember he has done pretty well as it is whenever he has played, and that has often been in a makeshift midfield anyway. Maybe even in some games against 'weak' opposition or 'dead' games, a MF of Masch-Thiago-Afellay would be interesting. In others, he should be used with Xavi or Iniesta much like Keita has. I still don't think Cesc should be a priority.

More I think about it, Sanchez should be the priority. He would bring so much to the side. He's so direct. He defends like a Trojan too.

Sandro Rosell slams 'shameless' Jose Mourinho and says Barcelona could have more than €45m to spend this summer

Club president claims Catalans could dip into next year's transfer budget, says Madrid 'crossed the limits of sportsmanship' and described Jose Mourinho as shameless

    [...]

Rosell added: "Madrid made accusations and conspiracy claims without any ground. They've tried to win off the pitch what they couldn't win on it. We want to turn the page now, but if Madrid cross the limits of sportsmanship again, we won't hesitate to break all relations."

ts great to see all youth teams at Barca, playing the same false 9 system pep has instituted in the first team. Rafinha(18) who is a midfielder played as false 9 against Real Madrid in Champions Cup U-19 Final and Today, Christian Herrera ( Winger, 17) played as a "false 9" also.

Thiago made 108 passes for Spain against Czech Republic, 35 more than any other player, at a success rate of 91%.

Udinese attacker Alexis Sanchez (22) will on Monday travel to Barcelona to sign his contract as new Barcelona player. [canal 13]
Sanchez had to choose between offers of Man United, Man City and Barcelona. He picked the latter despite Barcelona offering lowest salary.

it is indeed looking likely, but i only know what sport has printed, 10 million with a payback clause, but it is being said he would prefer a loan to a team like Villarrel/Valencia.

The loan/sale will be good for him i'm sure people talk a lot of shit about the kid, but if you lot at his record and compare to his peers (Mario and Pato for me) it isn't, especially considering how much minutes he has played in the bast two seasons. he will do an excellent job for any team who gives his a bit of confidence.

Barca Juvinel B, lost the U-17 World club cup final to Corinthians 2-1, Juvinal A took the lead in the first half, but hit the wall has the second half wore on, Pretty much the same thing happened in the Semi-finals against Madrid where they took a 2-0 lead in the first half, and gave away 2 goals in the 2nd,but won on Penalties.

Its a pretty good showing considering half the team was 15 years old and Juvinel B really isn't about being this competitive in the youth development program which may explain why almost every team we played looked much fitter than us, its only our Superior technical ability and first half burst that took us to the final.

Grimaldo A LB for the team = Shocked

will be interesting to see what Juvinel A will do in the youth champions league which will start next season, against you teams from across europe.

Sanchez had reportedly been given permission the the chile national team to leave training to fly to barca to complete the deal, i hope its true,it seems so for all indications i'm getting.

it also seems that the club is still going for Rossi, even with the signings of sanchez and Kiko, the Cesc deal will be reliant on him stop being a pussy and pushing for the deal, i hope he stays there and root.

What's the point of the Kiko buy? I don't get it. He looks like a reasonably talented youngster but nothing remarkable. Surely his purchase isn't really needed unless he has been bought to bolster the B side which would be an odd move for him.

Despite what is being reported I can't see the pursuit of Rossi being continued if Sanchez is purchased. Assuming Jeffren + Bojan go I think MVP + Sanchez + Afellay will be enough for 3 positions. 5 quality players.

Yeah Kiko is for barca B, but they are promising him some games in the first team, the new strategy is to get a few players who are somewhere between the B team and the Senior like the two Argentine we were linked with and Kiko and see how the adjust to hopefully bring down the cost of transfer in the future.
