Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
Barça B currently getting smashed, down 0-3 at home against Depor.
But glancing at the goalscorers, I have an important question - how the fuck is someone as talented as Guardado stuck at a Segunda club
He must have a really shit agent.

Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
Valencia and Malaga currently leading 0-1, with goals from Soldado and Demichelis respectively. I have Mallorca-Malaga on in the background...bit of a dull game, neither side really imposing themselves. Malaga look dodgy at the back as we all expected. But they have enough firepower up front to overcome that problem. Cazorla in particular is impressive...definitely their best player.
Barça kick off in around 45 mins from now.
Valdés
Alves, Puyol, Mascherano, Abidal
Busquets, Xavi, Thiago
Cesc, Messi, Villa

Judging by the start, they're shaping up in a 3-4-3. Cesc is playing on the left "wing".
Mistake from Abidal in possession, Osasuna force a corner, and hit the woodwork

Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
Very rapid ball movement so far. But it seems scoring 2 goals is cursed - the team starts doing stupid things. Too many silly moments inviting unnecessary pressure on the defense. The lines are too far apart, allowing Osasuna to occasionally move into the space between defense and midfield.

Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
Abidal and Messi (great cross from Alves) hit the woodwork, but a few mins later Abidal slips Villa through, who rounds the keeper and scores to make it 3-0.
Now 4-0, Villa was 1-on-1 with the keeper and the initial shot was saved, but after some rebounds it somehow went in.

And 5-0 now.
Fine footwork from Fabregas and he put it on a plate for Messi. They're linking up really well already.

Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
Chipped pass from Messi to Xavi, who chips the goalkeeper. 6-0.
Adriano and Maxwell have come on for Puyol and Abidal. Hope to see Afellay soon. Valencia away in midweek, will be a very tough game.
Edit: Afellay does come on for Xavi. No idea what the formation now is. I guess the back 4 would be Adriano-Mascherano-Busquets-Maxwell, with Alves just continuing in midfield/attack. He's had a really good game, every cross was dangerous.

This is ridiculous. Puyol has barely been off for a few minutes and Osasuna have already had 3 very good chances.

Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
Cesc runs in a straight line with the ball, into a crowd of Osasuna defenders, keeps running past them, somehow the ball bobbles through to him, and he squares it to Villa for the 7-0.
We want 8!
Edit: and there it is. Messi doing another one of his Playstation runs.

Barce = Epic ! this team is the best team the world has ever seen in my opinion..simply incredible. Obviously i understand this was against Osasuna and i know they hve certin aspects that mean they can be beaten but they are only human at the end of the day (although the jury is out on messi) but they are total class and when they get going they are almost unstopable !

Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
What's happening in la liga? Is it becoming dull or are Madrid and Barcelona just that good? Barcelona 3 games, 15 scored, Real Madrid 2 games played 10 goals scored. Saragosse-Madrid 0-6 Barcelona -Villareal 5-0, and now Barcelona 8-0 . Great that there are so many goals, but how come a professsional team concede over 5 goals?! that's too much. Probably they just give up.

Sounds like a crazy game that finally gave Zaragoza their first win:
Zaragoza [2 - 1] Espanyol
29' [1 - 0] L. Garcia
71' [1 - 1] J. Lopez
86' red card J. Lopez
88' L. Garcia (missed pen.)
90' [2 - 1] L. Garcia
Edit: Falcao starting to fire. 2 goals to put Atletico 2-0 up at halftime.

Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
12 mins to go, Madrid losing 1-0. I switched on 10 mins ago and they just look desperately slow and lacking any ideas, creativity, or movement. Same problems as they had last year against small teams.
Or maybe they just can't play against teams in blaugrana-coloured kits
Hope I haven't jinxed it. Come on Levante, hang on.

Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
That was actually awful. And why take off Benzema n keep Kaka. For me the main problem today is we had one midfielder n that was Alonso. Noone for him to connect with what so ever. He's just out there isolated.
