Betis are already promoted for next season. The last automatic promotion will come down to Girona and Sporting on the last weekend of the season. Playoffs will then include Girona or Sporting, Las Palmas, Valladolid, and either Zaragoza or Ponferradina. Eibar had been relegated on the last day of the season after Deportivo's last gasp draw in the Camp Nou but because of Elche's financial irregularities, Eibar will play in the top flight next year.

    Personal prediction for next year:
    1. Barcelona
    2. Real Madrid
    3. Atletico Madrid
    4. Sevilla
    ------------------
    5. Athletic Bilbao
    6. Malaga
    7. Valencia

A side note: glad to see Eibar stay up as its good to small market teams in La Liga, and their stadium is kind of cool.

Zaragoza and Las Palmas make the final for the playoff.

Las Palmas edged Valladolid on away goals (1-1 aggregate).

Zaragoza also go through on away goals. Were losing 0-3 after the first match in la Romareda but somehow manage to beat Girona 1-4 away.

Las Palmas pull it off winning the return leg 2-0!

It means that Juan Carlos Valeron, who just turned 40 years old, could well make his return to the top flight of Spanish football. His current deal is up but it sounds like the president will give him a one year extension so he can play one last season in Primera. Ale

Maybe nobody cares but Elche has been officially relegated! They had been relegated due to financial irregularities and Eibar was restored to the first division but Elche appealed so it's all been up in the air but LFP finally ruled that Elche is down.

Aduirz's header was class too. The skill by the winger to beat Dani Alves, the cross and then the wonderful header. He's only 6 foot nothing but he's a beast in the air. On PES Stats he has 93 Heading accuracy. Shocked

What has happened to the famous La Masia? All the players from this latest crop are awful. Bojan, Tello, Cuenca, Muniesa, Rafinha, Sergi Roberto, Traore, Bartra, Montoya etc. Yikes Even Thiago hasn't progressed as expected. The 2012 match against Levante with the 11 La Masia graduates on the pitch feels like a longtime ago

Bartra, Tello, Cuenca and especially Rafinha aren't awful. Tello and Cuenca play for Porto and Rafinha and Bartra both get decent time for us. Bartra is in poor form this pre-season but he's a talented player. There was a time when Bojan was as good as well but he had to compete with Messi didn't he?

And there is a player called Sergi Samper (A DM) who is really talented but we have the best 2 DM's in the world in our team, though I would rather Samper played there instead of Mascherano because he is unsuited to our system.
