Cleverly was poached from Bradford.
Still better than signing mercenaries from Turkey.

So I've seen Livermore for 74 minutes now and I'm pretty sure he is a lot better than Lass Diarra. Still glad Spurs are taking him off our hands.

Man Utd are playing some really lovely football this season. That's two wonderful team goals they've scored already this year.

Even though this is a fixture that Spurs haven't won in 500 years, it's crazy to think that Man. Utd. are comfortably beating Spurs with a team where the players' ages are 20, 21, 19, 23, 30, 23, 22, 24, 26, 25, 20!

Yeah, though I should point out, the ages are a bit misleading because almost all those players have solid Premier League experience under their belt and have played a lot of games already. Loan system has been used well for the likes of Cleverly and Wellbeck. Also in this particular game, they weren't really dominating, but managed to step up their level and get the win (provided Spurs don't pull off a miracle in the last 5 mins).

De Gea's kicking is brilliant. But when does he play Stoke
Poor ball handling. Needs to be more positive/confident when catching.

First half was decent though unspectacular by both teams. Friedel with a good save from Cleverley in the opening minutes, but I'd say Spurs had better link up.Noah und der Bale wrote:Our perennial bottle job at OT continues
Second half is/was very one-sided just outside Spurs' box for the majority of it. And when Spurs do manage to counter they made poor decisions.

'What a fucking goal', was Ferguson's response to Man Utd's second.
I've been impressed with Man Utd in each of the three games they've played so far this season - in the Community Shield, in their game against West Brom even though their victory in that match came a little fortunately, and again tonight. It is remarkable to think that four of the players in their starting eleven tonight are new to the squad - Young, Cleverley, Jones and De Gea - and that Welbeck returned this summer from a season-long loan, and has played only a few games for the first team before, and Smalling has only had one season with the club (and he is an interesting case, given that, from what I recall, Man Utd signed him after only a handful of starts for Fulham, for a relatively small fee, in a relatively speedy, low-key deal). Smalling and Cleverley look so composed and intelligent, and Welbeck in a few games has relegated Hernandez to the bench; and in general this Man Utd side, with Cleverley in the centre of the pitch, Rooney up front and Nani and Young roaming a bit, with Smalling and Evra quick down the flanks, is already playing more attractive football than I've seen Man Utd play in a number of years. They are full of clever, composed dribbling, flicks and quick interplay.
