Fair play to Nasri for actually giving a shit and trying today. I thought he might sulk around and get booed all game long.

Nasri is just showing what we are all going to miss. He is so much superior to anyone else out there.

Something must have gone wrong when translating Moneyball from baseball to football...seems like hoofing it is the best approach to success

Nasri did more in that half than Walcott, Arshavin and RvP combined.

Arshavin is playing as bad as professionally possible so that not hard. V'Persie and Walcott are doing nothing for the same reason Nasri is, the team is failing to get the ball to them.Rosicky wrote:shazlx wrote:NoRosicky wrote:Nasri is just showing what we are all going to miss. I'm focussing on the positives so:
Frimpong looks like a bit of a unit. And is more mobile than previous units. Might well get sent off though, but we don't have any other options to sub him with.
Would quite like to see Riodinho instead of Arshavin, just out of interest.

Just out of interest? There are much more pressing reasons to get Arshavin off the pitch.Hlebagone wrote:Would quite like to see Riodinho instead of Arshavin, just out of interest.

Onee of the curious surely Arshavin should be better and can't throw Miyachi in at the deep end conundrums. But yeah, he can't be worse than Arshavin, and we can't dominate possession anymore, so would make sense.
Annoying that Frimpong has chosen to play for Ghana - as we'll lose him too during the ACN.

Arshavin's career on the wings is over. He was never the best physically, expecting him to go up and down the pitch with his current physical condition is pretty dom. He also can't dribble anymore, so he's best used in the centre(just behind RVP) where he can use his vision to put people through.
We badly miss Wishere.

With Frimpong, Jenkinson and Miguel already on the pitch, I don't think it matters anymoreHlebagone wrote:shazlx wrote:Just out of interest? There are much more pressing reasons to get Arshavin off the pitch.Hlebagone wrote:Would quite like to see Riodinho instead of Arshavin, just out of interest.

Obviously it's early days, but I see nothing from these 2 sides to be afraid of in our quest for 4th.
Not with these starting 11's anyway

I did say this at the beginning of the season - Liverpool have a good squad but it's clear they don't know what their best team is yet. Kenny is still tinkering and clearly trying to accomodate everyone, and the longer he does that the bestter chance their rivals have of pulling away from them. He'll eventually cotton on and realise Henderson (and to some degree Carrol) is a waste of space, but longer he feels obliged to play them the better
Arsenal on the otherhand have a paper thin squad, if they kept their first team fit it would be ample to get them 4th IMO even without Fabregas, but they look devoid of confidence with such a depleted team as today. Even worse for them, now looks like Mata is going to Chelsea.
