As I said at the time, those writing us off after 2 games against the Manchester clubs were going to look silly.

Liverpool being down to 9 helps, but we were putting all the pressure on even when it was 11 v 11, those sendings off were from chasing the ball.

We still have problems converting chances- final 3rd play isn't great. But overall very nice result , win our next game in hand and well go 4th

Was there a doubt? Arsenal's current midfield even without Wilshire is better and Spurs' midfield is currently better than Arsenal's.

But who needs a midfield anyway when you can hoof it long to the £35m man.

Good win for Spurs. Adebayor looks like he could be an asset for them unfortunately. Even if he isn't playing brilliantly he should still add more to their forward play than they had last year. It just remains to be seen whether they can keep him motivated.

I think that the problem with this Liverpool team is that Kenny did a halfhearted effort to root out the foreign elements in the team. Not there yet...

And Adebayor gets the fourth.

Actually I can't be too disheartened by this win, at least Spurs were good enough to save the thrashing for Liverpool.

Neat finish. Spurs could've got 8 if they'd put a bit more effort in the last 20 mins. Would've thought they'd want to turn round their GD from the first 2 games..

Adam's first yellow was a ridiculous decision so his sending off was very harsh but not sure if we would have got back into it anyway. Day to forget all round.

As for Bale- yep he's overrated, but it's useful having a player who gets double marked and leaves spaces elsewhere to exploit.

Sorry Liverpool- wasn't your day fellas. A few harsh lessons for King Kenny can only be a good thing- notably playing 4 in midfield and Carrol doesn't look like it works.

Stoke are learning some lessons about playing games after spending Thursday nights in Eastern Europe.

Not really impressed by Spurs, their movement is way too slow, especially against Liverpool...with 9 men.

Those last minutes passing the ball to each other in triangles, that was really cringing, if you are REALLY good, you do it on the half of the opponent, not on your own half ffs

Wouldn't have made a difference as Liverpool had more or less given up.

When you had Adam sent off it seemed to knock us out of our stride for a while if anything.

Wasn't the 1st yellow for a cynical block? The 2nd could have been a straight red on another day.

Suarez was lucky to not see red as well - caught Parker across the throat at the end of the 1st half.

not a very good performance but worth noting that the scoreline didn't get embarrassing until after we went down to 9 men so not quite a crisis.

Skrtel being sent off at least means 1 game where we wont have to suffer through him playing at right back.

Adam's suspension will coincide nicely with Gerrard's return.

But the performance, scoreline and disciplinary concerns aside, it was a pretty good day

Don't know who else we could have played right back vs Bale with Kelly and Johnson injured. Carra would have been just as bad there as Skrtel was and Flanagan would have been roasted too.

It wasn't good enough today. From start to finish we never looked like scoring, couldn't string passes together and got out-ran, out-thought and out-played.

As I said when Meireles left, our central midfield isn't up to scratch. Even with Gerrard coming back. He'll try too hard and get injured again.

Carroll looks worse and worse every time I see him - Torres and him were massive wastes of money for both teams. Not going to blame him though, none of them were good enough in the slightest today, Alan Smith seemed to think Enrique was good - I thought he had a shocker.

Skrtel was fucking woeful - our worst player by a mile.

Just one to forget and move on to Brighton in midweek then Wolves at home next weekend.

No the first yellow was just for a challenge in midfield with nothing in it. Unfortunately that arsehole of a ref decided he was going to outlaw tackling for the day. Didn't even give him a warning.

We may have got back into it with 11 men because although you were playing well you weren't really creating much.

The problem isn't the speed, it's the decision making. Had it been better we would have won 7 or 8 nil today, with Kuyt MOTM

Smalling scores an offside goal for Man Utd, but the linesman allows it. Torres then has a brilliant chance to equalise but scuffs his shot wide of the post.

What a waste for Chelsea. Mata played a beautiful pass inside the full back to Torres who squared to Ramires and he hit a shot tamely at De Gea (who did well) when he should have buried the chance.
